Soccer is not gay

i agree with your soccer points, but in baseball its more than hitting a ball and running. in baseball theres batting skills, bunting skills ,base running skills(sprinting, lead off, sliding, tagging up), catching skills(knowing how to catch fly balls, snagging up grounders,) throwing skills, and pitching skills.
 
How can you EVER say that one sport involves "more skill" than other sports? I am a soccer fan, but you did not make very good points at all.
 
how many other sports require you to be able to use both your left and your right. You will go no where in soccer if you cant use both feet. I hate it when people try to compare sports. All sports are unique in their own ways. Soccer, football, basketball, and ect... all require different forms of physicality, of finess, and skill. So please stop trying to compare sports.
 
You can easily say that one sport involves more skill than other sport. Cycling involves very little skill, its just about fitness and endurance, where as Snooker is pretty much the opposite, it involves loads of skill and no fitness.
 
Sports for real men require that you where body armor and take breaks every few seconds.

I guess if you can chew tobacco while you play, that counts too.

Soccer is pretty cool. But alot about it sucks. I think it is way way too fucking long, and has a really slow pace. The players are really whipy to. They take dives, little hits and they get injured. I comepare it to hockey, or any sport, and it seems like they just don't have the heart other athletes have. Look at hockey players like maurice richard. The mother fucker won a stanley cup after working a full day, and moving his family into his new home. Ryan Smith played with his teeth knocked out, and scored a goal, and assists.

Soccer players get a little kick to the foot, and they whiper off the field. They need to grow some guts and play through the pain.

there is no similarity with using both feet in skiing. Using both feet in soccer is like using both hands in basesball. Imagine having to throw with each hand as good as your other, and being able to switch hit as good as your regular hit. That is a comparison and no one can do that in baseball, but they can in soccer. Using both feet in skiing is simple
 
i actually know of a kid who does pitch w/ both arms. he has a special glove made for him and he has to tell the batter which way he's pitching right or left handed before the at bat. pretty freaky huh? and he actually throws mid to high 80s for a college in the south.

but to get back to the soccer part of it. im tired of seeing tools post in here that soccer is still gay and thats all they say. dont post if you dont have an opinion and can back it up. youre just ruining the forum.
 
well, soccer is not gay, but you sure are making it sound queer.

by trying to proove why you like soccer and making it seem like it has the same "ruffness of football (americano)" you're just bitching down to try to show that it is what people think is cool.

roughness* is also certainly not the main point in soccer nor is it really that intense, believe me, I've played all the sports you listed, and right above baseball, it sits on the list for being second to least "ruff"

 
If people say its gay, why do so many people live their lvies around it everywhere in the world EXCEPT America? Maybe americans are just too obsessed with their "National Past-times" to realize that every single kid played on a Youth Soccer Team when they were 6...
 
I would have to disagree that soccer is way too long. A football game takes around 3.5 to 4 hours, but a professional soccer game will only take two hours, unless there is overtime. The other thing to consider is that during the time of play soccer players dont get any breaks, so of course they wont be sprinting every second. As far as players being whiny, it really sucks. some players do play through pain, but being tackled while running full speed hurts more than you would think.
 
You need to realize that soccer players are NOT wimpy, they go into injuries because, in case you didnt know, when a play is injured and the play stops, that is the only time they can get a drink of water! Try going out on a field for 90 minutes+ and running back and forth without drinking any water, or hey, even just running for 90 minutes... I don't want to be mean or anything, its just that so many people say this and its totally misunderstood. I agree with you fully that there are other sports that are much more intense like hockey, where people do get teeth knocked out, but soccer ahs much mroe to it than the macho factor...
 
the reason soccer players fall allot more is because their legs are feet are being used more for just running. The majority of the time when you have the ball you are balanced on one foot(like shooting, passing, crossing) and it is easier to push people over on one foot.
 
the bottom line is that all sports require great amounts of skill and if u think they dont then they definitely require a great fitness level and/or lots of training and it is hard to compare which sport requries "More Skill" because all sports are different........

but if ur gunna say that soccer is gay then step up to the plate and present a legitimate argument besides, "Boo they dive boo" because just sayin that makes u look stupid and personally i have no respect for somebody that says shit like that and then doesnt provide a legit reason, but if u can say it and back it up then more power to u

and if u dont personally like a sport, thats fine nobody is forcing u to like it, but please dont make empty statements and idiotic comments such as "soccer is for pussies" or "football is gay" because that just makes u lose all credibility
 
i say soccer is fun!!! i played for like 10 year or sumthing and i never tryed to get a penalty kick by diving.....thats what seems to be happening when i watch this years cup....but wutevs im not saying there pussies.ther real good! ha

take you for example, u obviously play soccer and u r sticking up for it but if u say that soccer and football r almost the same theres something wrong. u get thoes dumbass card things for tripping someone and in football thats basically the game... i understand that u like soccer but thinking its more physical than football is total bullshit

that aside, its hard for any professional sport to be gay, otherwise it wouldn't get any support outside of san francisco
 
the best part of soccer is the dives! haha, they look retarded but its kinda funny, other than that, uhh there is no best part, maybe when they go absolutely fucking crazy over a goal, im not a big soccer fan, sorry
