SoCal: Who Lives/Skis Here

Hello I just moved to Ojai in August and I am moving to Oxnard pretty soon. I was just wondering who is in the area and what are the best places to shred at.

I've been looking into Mtn. High and Bear Mountain, they are about 3 hours away from my knowledge but it's worth the drive to get some skiing in for sure.

Who else lives around the area and where do you ski!

i am not in SB, but further south, orange county. i dont waste my time with bear or mtn high. not bashing, just, the drive to mammoth is so worth it!

if you want cheap and quick, then yea, mtn high or bear are great. but the lines...oh dear, no no no...

bear mountain has the best park hands down. You can't even contest it. But mammoth is definatetley worth the drive for the back country. Especially since back country is non-exhisted in So Cal. Unless you do get the occasional epic powder days, then go to Mt. Baldy or you could get luck and those skis bums open up the resort on top of angeles crest. I can't remember the name but its the resort furthest in angeles crest. Its open like 2 weeks a season. Thats my advice, i;ve been skiing So Cal for the last 15 years of my life.

I live in Valencia and have a pass to Mountain High. It's decent enough for living in Southern California and only an hour drive. The jibs are pretty fun and, on weekdays, are fairly well maintained. The jumps are a little cramped. The mountain is loaded with features; it's really aimed specifically at park skiers/boarders. Remember, though, park skiers are very much in the minority... you may only see one or two other people on park skis. If you go midweek, the crowds aren't too much of a problem. I go once or twice a week during the season.

I live in Palm Springs, 2hrs to Bear, would love to get to Mammoth but not available with my schedule only permits midweek trips. luckily no lines then.

Mammoth Dec - May, Downtown LA June - Sep. Somewhere in S.Cal till I get my BS 2.0.

I ski 4 days a week at Big Bear/Summit.

And book it to Mt. High following work every day Im not in Big Bear. If anyones up there they'll notice me. The 6'4 dude skier walkin around with AR6's. theres like 6 regular skiers on the mountain.

fgt snowboarders.

Alright you'll probably see me up there every Wednesday... Surface skis, light blue 686 jacket, and tan Holden pants... being an embarrassingly bad skier.

haha yeah should be fun this season. youll see me with a shrek ogre, aka my twin brother.

he snowboards... what a faggle.

Yo I'm down in Valencia too what up?

There are alot more park skiers at Mt. High now than there were a few years ago though.

Whoever mentioned Baldy, I heard they were adding lifts and trying to turn it into a legit resort this year.
