well your not helping your search if you want bands just from socal, which i'd say about 95 percent stuck. plus This is BOSTON NOT LA!

yes yes because the mighty mighty bosstones are still going STRONG.. bands like the descendents, bad religion, black flag are nobody's. you're completely correct in your statement.

anyway, lately i've been listening to the tim armstrong solo album, chaser, pennywise as always, the uprising, welt, ignite, el centro, face to face, and strung out. pretty much all of those groups (including tim) are out of southern CA.
 
who ever said anything about the Bosstones? i dont even like them. im talking about the real bands most unsigned still doing their thing, keeping the music alive. lots of bands like. Municipal Waste, Mouth Sewn Shut, 26 Beers, The Knox, Toxic Narcotic, The Have Nots. Tons of others, and not to mention the Hardcore scene is thriving right now in all of MA with tons of new bands.
 
Yes, my poor grammar choices. i spelt one word wrong. this is ns no one strives to be gramatically correct here, and if they did it would suck. Boston is where i'm from and tons of good punk and hardcore music is being played and created everyday. playing with more anger, heart, frustration, and more hatred that only comes outa Boston, while everyone else is LA sings abotu the same old shit. Not everyone but the majority.
 
yeah man i was referring to that. there is also another east coast band called for the worse that has a song called. This is boston not la. but yeah its cool dont worry about it
 
AHHH I saw them a few weeks ago and it was SUCH an amazing show. I have been dying to see them for years, and they aren't assholes on stage, they took requests, and played like 5 choking victim songs
 
"BOSTON NOT L.A." Was a early 80's hardcore punk compilation record that was really good. Super hard and fast! Boston' kids claimed that their hardcore scene in the 80's was better than L.A.'s... Not sure bout that cause Ive only been to Boston once, but I do know they had a tight and strong scene going.

I guess I am the only one on here that's old enough to have been in the scene here then... So Cal was where it was at. Big time shows going in Huntington Beach, Long beach, Dowtown L.A. Hollyood, even up in the Mountains at some big parties...

yeah i fucking hate people like that, who pay rediculous amounts of money just so they can put a label on themselves, and be "different" than everyone else. But yeah i have listened to punk and hardcore for years, but i dont feel the need to dress up to fit in. i wear what i want, usually consisting of pants and a tee shirt. i dont need no crazy outift or wardrobe to know who i am
 
yeah exactly, I go to the same shows as these kids and also have MUCH more fun then they could ever imagine. haha

My friend told me they once went out and bought the same pants, and then went and hung out to sew them up and put patches on them together
 
ok since ur going to be a dick like this lets get into how i found out about punk

MY dad died of FUCKING cancer when i was in 6th grade, I then started to get angry at life and ppl, so i would beat the shit out of everyone. i then started to listeen to rap and that wasnt hard enough for me. so when my mom started dating again she dated this guy named Jim, jim is a local legend at our moutain, he is also a original punk. so he noticed that I was a angery kid and he knew the rap i was listening to was shit, so he gave me a dead kennedy and minor threat cd. that is when i started to look into punk and found out about the sex pistols and sid vicious who is one of my heros. so ur prolly the little poser here.

u prolly walk around town with ur little leather jacket, and maybe a fag ass green day patch on it while u r hanging with ur 8th grade friend.

i thought you said punk wasnt an image. and you're the one who is worried about setting an image for yourself and being more punk than everyone else. you said you dont like hurting yourself? you idolize sid viscious who would cut himself repeatedly. i fucking hate all the baggage that comes along with punk, its so fucknig annoying. go to a real local show and you will see what real punk is like. For example a basement show, not at some big venue.
