i dont know if this qualifies as thread worthy but whatever. i live in a town of 50,000 in a small elderly italian neighbourhood, the average neighbour is 60 or older so id say its a fairly safe place to live. so at about 11 30 i go to my front door to make sure everything is locked, lights are off etc. and i see this kid, 18 or so riding his bike and holding another upright as he goes along. i think it looks a little weird so i sitck around a couple more seconds and 3 cruisers come peeling down my street. this kids bails and trys to take off, two more cruisers are gettting here now and 4 cops have their guns out screaming at this kid to drop. they cuff him and put him in the car so i stick around and listen a bit. turns out this kid broke into a house within eyesight of mine through the garage and just put as much shit as he could fit in a backpack and left. now i get this doesnt make where i live less safe i just thought it was crazy that in such a small sleepy little town in a quiet little neighbour hood that this would happen all within 10 seconds of me going to my front door. post your "cool story bro" shit all you want, i dont care, i just thought a couple people might find this interesting.

but seriously, things like that are crazy, this summer some friends and i were just walking in the neighborhood near our movie theater baked late at night, and then this high speed pursuit goes right by us, we weren't sure if it was real so when the cop drove by we all just pointed at the direction the car had gone haha

one thing you'll learn as you grow up is that break ins and burglaries happen EVERYWHERE, and usually it's not the people that live in the neighborhood, it's the people passing through it.

now i'm not saying that as many people are going to get their radios jacked from their cars in a sleepy little town as say the Bronx, but that stuff does happen pretty much everywhere there is something worth stealing.
 
your comepletely right but i think what blew me away the most was the timing, i just went to check my locks and this happened within 10 - 15 seconds of me getting to my front door
 
me and my 3 buddies got chased by an entire police squad this summer. 20 cars, a helicopter, dogs. good times.

see that story doesnt portray a non safe city to me. safety has nothing to do with punks stealing shit. people steal shit everywhere. i grew up in the fucking suburbs and mad shit gets stolen from cars and garages. now if you told me that kid was riding his bike down the street with some other kids head on a hockey stick, now that'd be sketchy.
 
I live in a city of 1 million people.

We have hunters point, the fillmore, and the tenderloin district.
All of which are notorious for their violence and drug trafficking.
Also, Mac Dre and Andre Nickatina came from here.

even though SF is probably "rougher" than 70% of the kids one here's hometowns, its not that bad
at allive stayed in fillmore. didnt see shit go down once
and mac dre was from vallejo, not SF big difference

but yeah oakland......that place is fucked

i just found out, the house that was broken into was was actualy my dads fishing buddie from newfoundland's house, well he was out on the lakes fishing and only his wife was home, and when she got up to see the comotion she droped from a heart attack, she is still recovering in the hospital right now. her only saving grace realy was their massive dog (which actualy wouldnt hurt a fly) scarred the kid away.
 
No way! I'm in a town right now with like 400 year round residents and shit has gone down. Are you really that surprised that a place with 50k people has crime?

And that's not even major crime.
 
im not surpirsed my town has crime at all im more surprised that it happenend on my street right as i was at my front door and that it happend to a family friend and gave them a heart attack. and im used to living in cities of 150 000 at the very least so 50 000 is a small city to me
 
I live in a way bigger place near ny for a long time. IT's not like I've always lived where I do now or went to school here.

I'm just saying crime happens everywhere.
 
That kinda stuff happens all the time where i live... I live in a little suburb right outside detroit and that shit happens constantly.
 
I was at my freinds house and he said that his neiburhood is now sketchy and then a bar fight sspilled out in to the street and three people got shot
 
im in ct and just two weeks ago a woman was raped RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE when she was out on a morning run. it was so crazy considering how close it was to me. they caught the guy.

Shit happens more than you think.

In the past 2 weeks, two of my friends have been shot, not fatal. 2 kids at my school have been stabbed, 1 was arrested with 2 POUNDS of weed on him, my friend's cousin was stabbed in the neck outside of a crowded restaurant, and a dead body and a separate arm not from the body.
And Oakland....is well.....Oakland.

I live a small town of 25,000 people in MA. Nothing ever happens here, except one time a guy robbed a bank and was gunned down in the streets.
 
I have a story. My friend who i used to play hockey with had fucked this girl and after she sent him naked pictures. He showed a couple freinds who 1 asshole sent them to more people and they sent them to more people etc. The next day the cops came into our school and took him out by cuff's. He was in a jail cell for 18 hours not knowing anything at all. He was charged a shit load of money like 25, 000 or something for child pornography.
He got it all figured out now and has only 200 comunity service hours.
Still what a way to lose your virginity at 15 .
 
Same thing happened when I was in high school. It's amazing how fast nudes will go through a school. I think everyone had the picture on their phone by the end of the day.
