So why is Reasons packaging like cardboard?

I was just thinking about this after watching it. Why is the box made out of what feels like cardboard? It feels like it will fall apart soon. and for those who haven't seen the box here is a pic

A plastic DVD/CD case is a complete waste of resources.

It doesn't look like that big of a deal. I mean, how often do you look at the actual case? If it falls apart, just put the DVD in a different case.

And it is more eco-friendly than plastic i bet.

Plastic is a petroleum (oil) derivative. The papery case is made of a renewable resource (though cutting down trees for paper isn't perfect either, even if that is why they have been grown), so I would say it's generally better.

The My Own Two Feet case is made of recycled chip board, so if the Reasons one is similar, then there you are.

Paper/cardboard is also cheaper. It's chill, its like buying a harry potter book and complaining that the cover doesn't look like harry potter from the movies, who cares.
