So whos going to work at Keystone this winter?

good place to start? more like good place to end... your life. you dont just ski a51, hell only a few have been able to access it, let alone ski it. i heard someone actually made it through the whole thing, but that could just be rumors. a51= suicide

it's pretty good, they dont really have a good starter line of jumps, but the medium line is sweet, and it's a great place to get all levels of jib on.

For people like me...A51 is death. It's definitely scary. "Good thing I got that helmet. Safety first, kids." Yes, I just quoted Jackass.

a51 has a lot of nice easy rails to learn on and for jumps you can just hit incubator. incubator has a few 15ft jumps (maybe 15?) to start on. Then when you are fine on those hit a51s mellow medium line.

dont listen to her (she never tried anything at keystone), keystone is great for learning, they have a learning park called frieda's incubator, tons of short boxes less than a foot off the ground. also some small jumps that were good two years ago, but crappy last year (i expect they'll be better as it was the new park director's first year at keystone last year)

You just didn't see me. I was definitely in there.

Anywho...

The jumps there last season sucked major poon tang. If they are going to be better than last season then I'll def be there, but until I see it then it's Breck for me.

yeah keystones big line sucked, like that second jump, if you knuckled, your knees would explode out your pants, same with the last, the jumps just werent fun, brecks were the same size and much much better. plus park lane is awesome

keystones big line definitely didn't suck last season. of course your knees would explode if you knuckled its a 50ft jump, your knees will die knuckling on any jump that big. sure they weren't as good as brecks big line, but they definitely didn't suck.

Yeah, uhhh, we aren't talking about the same thing. I don't have the kajones to even look at the big or even medium line.

park lane was so shitty. and keystone's big line must have sucked, that's why andreas was there almost every day last year after they opened.

I was gunna miget instruct at key but beav gave me a better offer so im going there but on my off days ill def be heading over there i love keystone

yeah they were good when it was perfect weather, and your skis were recently waxed, but atleast for me, even on good days, id have to tuck like crazy into each jump to barely clear the knuckle, and half the time i wouldnt and id kill my legs and not be able to hit jumps the rest of the day.

maybe it was just early season, i stopped going to keystone like halfway through the season and only went to breck

Do you weigh lie 60 pounds? There line was sick all year. About the same as breck's big line, except the 3 at Breck was way better, that jump was so good.

that was cause of the spacing at keystone, jump two should have been farther forward so there wasn't so much flat before the 3rd, that or 3 could have been back too. the second jump was so fun last year as was the first, 3rd was good too but had some speed issues.

I'm gonna go ahead and bump dis shit.

All I can think of and talk about is skiing, and I'm still in FL. Don't talk to be about how you got your hand stuck in the wood chipper or how your horse fell on you...doesn't interest me...skiing...period.

5 more days...

BTW Anyone else?

Its sweet- prob got like 8 or 9 days at A Basin so far. Its crowded and they only have a couple icy trails open but they have some rails out. I'm just stoked to be skiing in oct can't wait for some more snow!

I probably live in the closest thing to real world breck right now. 5 roommates besides myself (6bd house), and everyone is going to be working for the mountain, or around the base areas (shops, medical clinic, hotel, etc) So its already been pretty crazy. Our recycling (alcohol) outnumbers our trash 10 to 1. One of em works on race/event crew so im sure the other person that posted here will meet her. Been a good time so far.

as for parks..the big line at keystone was all they really had. the place was so lacking in flow, its like feature placement was decided on a dart board. the two things key's big line has on freeway is less wind, and fairly consistant speed (same start spot). keys big line was like rapid fire compared to freeway tho, had alot more setup/inbetween time at breck...and they were bigger. If there was a light snow day or things were somwhat slow, you can start higher at breck...where as you just wouldnt be able to make it at keystone tho. keys big is definitely more busy than brecks......hopefullly the moving uphill of chair 5 helps cut down on gaper crowds and gives us more of a park oriented chair.

park lane shitty? pretty much destroyed everything at keystone, so dont know where that comment could come from, unless you like doing zigzags in your lines. yea the overdose of boxes was annoying (ESPECIALLY IN BOXWAY, i mean freeway) but that issue has been dealt with and hopefully wont be back this year.

As for what I've said about "no pre-season park" from breck....I stand corrected. That was a bunch of haterade rumors passed from my boss....bad info. We will hopefully have something opening weekend, probably 4-5 rails/boxes but if weather cooperates, hopefully we can blow enough snow to make some jumps as well. its a day by day thing, and hopefully I'll have a better idea of whats gonna be up closer to opening weekend.

all that aside.....going to be a sweet halloween party @ my shekel house on I believe. Saturday nov 1st....officially sponsored by fuse beverages and 42 below vodka. Hit me up with a pm if you are interested.

i wasn't the only one who didn't like park lane, the jumps sucked whenever i was there. i know you work at breck, but i can easily take 3 laps at keystone in the time of 1 at breck, and the size difference of the big lines was not huge, though both were nice.

all of brecks parks kill it, but as said above me, i would much rather get 10 laps in a51 than 5 laps in at freeway in the same amount of time.

oh yeah is this ur first year working there or have u done it before, also can someone help me how do i quote something it always tells me im doing it wrong haha.

First year. Gotta get away from the Sunshine State for a good long while, and become at least a mediocre park skier.

Just click on "Quote Reply".

I'm moving all my shit into the apartment now. I'm in Tenderfoot. So far I know I'm living with at least one skier, and a FSU fan (UH OH!). Should be fun, but you never know. I need to meet more people now because I don't feel like partying and having a good time by myself (it's not actually fun).
