So who's actually satisfied with Marker bindings?

There seems to be a lot a people who've have bad experiences with Marker bindings, mainly Griffins by the sound of things. So who's actually happy with Markers? Personally, I'm really satisfied with Jester Schizos. Haven't had the dreaded early release or exploding heel pieces. For what it's worth, I use Salomon SPK boots with them.

Anyone else?

I am really happy with my griffons and I weight about 175lbs, really good bindings ! + I got them for a cheap price

i think people just hate em because other people hate same. Same reason dude recommend FKSs without having ever owning them.

I love my griffons, definitely worth getting, although I also have a set of squires on my jib skis, and I can't stand them. Just don't cheap out, and get something better than the squires.

hated my griffons, felt like if i grabbed hard enough my boot would come right out. also had mark freeski 110s (i think thats what they were called) when i first started and those straight SUCKED

whats the deal with all the hate towards marker? I have the griffons and think they are great although I have also heard that the FKS's are really good although agree that a lot of people recommend them without ever having ridden them, I may give them a go this season!

I have Jesters on my Jmos and my AR6s and have had zero problems. I'll likely buy another pair if/when I get around to buying pow skis.

I've had 2 pairs of Griffins and 1 pair of jester pros. I love them. I don't even look at my old FKS anymore.

People mainly hate on them because of the high amount of plastic in the construction and the sliding afd, which isn't really ideal for a high performance park binding (which is why the afd is fixed on the jester pro). I've personally never had them, just pouting out what I've heard people say. I'm a big fan of the sth/ffg driver toe series myself, and will likely stick with those.

This, pisses me off when people do it, I don't use markers personally because of bad experiences with them breaking, but a lot of people find them good, and they're too quick to rule them out.

2 pairs of griffons, 1 pair jesters

no problems, no complaints. might try a new binding for the sake of branching out on my new sticks

i got the same orange 180 FKSs. I wouldnt have bought em if they werent orange because then people couldnt tell how good i was at skiing.

i was very satisfied with comp 18's back when i raced

all the royal family bindings are fucking terrible though

My Griffons have been problem free for 100+ days, and I weight 180lbs.

I'll be adding Barons and Jester or Jester Schizos this year.

i am satisfied with them. i have the griffons. i dont terribly like the binding, but have had no durability issues. only some pre-releases with my hellbents when stopping hard. i much prefer my salomon 14s tho

have a pair of squires on my blends(i weigh like ~150lbs) and have never had problems with pre-release. i've always felt when i've released, i wanted it to. i ride at a din of 8/9 so not particularly high and i know how to set forward pressure right so dont have problems. Maybe i dont ride as hard as some people. getting some griffon schizos for my blends as i mounted at core and its too far back for me. (getting schizos for a reason that is a long story) and mounting my squires to my park skis, so i dont have problems with them.

To me it seems like 50% has had no problems, wich also meens the other 50% does have/had problems..

I have had problems with the toe pieces, didnt trust them anymore after that.. I went to Look Pivots 18's because I have never heard anyone about having problems with fks/pivots..and its true, they are bombproof and I like that..

Zero problems with the original Jester Schizo (09/10, AKA the "bad" ones), skied about 60-70 days on them over the past two winters.

Skied multiple pairs, owned dukes. Why anyone wants to ride such a ceap plasticy binding is beyond me.

people can hate on Marker all they want.

sales figures speak for themselves. Marker OWNS the flat ski market right now. they've got to be doing something right.

I had barons, no issues with them

I have griffons on my lizzies, never had a problem with them.

I have jesters on my cryps, not fond of them. Maybe it's because they have a ton of days on them, but they don't click in nicely at all. Both heels are loose at the pivot points and on the tracks. I much prefer the non-dildo style heel, they click in much nicer, especially in pow. I'm planning on getting new skis, and I really do not want to reuse these jesters, I would much rather get peak 15's or sth 14's.

care to explain specifically why you don't like the royal family bindings?

I'm just curious to hear from someone not just jumping on popular hate, and someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

I haven't had any issues with my jesters or dukes, though my dukes are starting to develop some sloppiness, which is disappointing

Nobody said they weren't selling well.

And as for "doing something right", that would be marketing. Whenever I go into shops, Markers are the most prominent. They are the most flashy/noticeable looking binding compared to the no-frills, but practical, appearance of other bindings that perform the same or better. They also have a lot of technical jargon that sounds nice. This may just be me, but it appears that store clerks always try to sell Marker bindings first, and then recommend something else if you don't bite on it. Same thing online, a lot of ski/binding combos are solely for Marker.

All of this would lead to sales, but not necessarily a good binding.

love my 4 pairs of FKS185 and the pair of 155s. but i am really satisfied with my dukes, too. just a great binding for touring. wouldn't change my FKS for any other park/pow binding, though..

I had markers. They weren't nice markers at all they were like free tens but a lot of people told me not to get them so I got sth 12's. haven't even skied them yet
