you can have im's in one screen and ns in the other screen. or homework in one and on and on. i can see the use of it. wish i could do that

no. plug the other monitor into your computer, change a couple easy settings, and your done. took me like 2 minutes

dual monitor doesn't mean two monitors on two computers, its means two operating off one. so it's like having an ultra wide screen. kinda pointless unless you absolutely require that much space. (for example, my university buddies have dual monitors because when running a program such as autocad, its usefull to have the tools on one screen, and a full page for visual on the other)

You can play full screen jibberish on one screen and see what people are saying on aim! But then you can't reply unless you get out of it.

 
what kind of video card do you need to support 2 monitors? I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo, whatever that means. Anyone who has any idea how to set that up, let me know.

that should work. all you do is, plug the second monitor into the computer, the right click your desktop and go to properties, the the settings tab, and click the big 2. and then both should work. you might need to mess with the resolution though.

you have to drag it into the other monitor. then, once ther, it will always come up on the other monitor til you move it again

thats what mine is doing. running off my laptop hard drive, and running 1 program on each monitor

no they dont share hard drives. its only the monitor plugged into my laptop.

just a regular monitor cable that plugs into the back of your computer. it plugs right into the back of my laptop

u dont need anything special. it hooks int he back of the computers and i dont even think its that hard to do. my brother has one (or, two in this case) and it makes things alot easier if your a computer nerd. editing programs and music and websites, and aim and web design--those things can cluster your screen you know! it definitely makes things easier from what iv noticed.

That's acually exactly what I was doing last night when I was supposed to be working.

I've got an Nvidia card that has 2 monitor ports on the back of it. The Nvidia dual-monitior software makes it really easy to set it up, basically just hook up a rnd monitor and play with the software.

I've got a 17" on the left that I've got almost color calibrated for my photos and stuff, and a 15" on the right that's for NS/AIM/all that good stuff. Deviantart/PS/Illustrator go on the left.

Jibberish sticks on the right when it's full screen =P.

Did you know that if you hit ESC to pause jibberish, then hit the windows key to bring up the start menu you can minimize jibberish when it's full screen?
