so when the fuck does Loveland Open?

or any other resort, anybody know the opening dates yet for the shit that opens early?

 
Ya it is definately way earlier then the 17th, Sunday River opens the 11th and Killington is always a good 10 days earlier before them.
 
yeah its scheduled for the 14th i think...but unless they have insane snowmaking or it snows like fuck this week, theyll have to push it back...but the skiing wont be good until about december
 
i just drove up to summit yesterday. no fuckign snow anywhere. loveland looks like shit. looks like they could open in a month, MAYBE. its fucking terrible up there
 
loveland opens 0ctober 13th, this friday. And A-Basin opens october 14th, this saturday. I know some people on the inside.
 
It may or may not open on that date, who knows.... it doesn't really matter either way though. All you are going to get is the "icy ribbon of death" on the opener and subsequent week....it's really just to get the jones to ski out of your system until your home mountain opens.

Needless to say I'm pretty stoked for Loveland/Abasin to open
 
dude there will be rails set up for some of the most fun sessions ever u know that thats what opening weekends are about teh sessions and bout seeing peeps that u; haven't ween all summer
 
What if the rain turns to snow. Then it doesnt stop snowing all week. Then whos the moron?

Anyway, its supposed to snow in denver this week, not to mention the mountains. Just trying to stay optimistic.
 
im a realist. i was there on friday. it aint happening. but if it did snow the whole week they couldopen but we all know that aint happening
 
man im soo torn, cause there is something i gotta commit to tommorow if i wanna do it, so if they do open, ill be pissed, but if they dont, ill be bored all weekend...
 
I drove by Loveland yesterday and the really dont have enough snow to open Friday no matter how cold it is this week and no matter how much natural they get.
 
You can't see 85% of the run from the road. Look at the cams and you will see that they with some cold temps, they could easily open around Oct 13th.
 
i drove by there at 2:00 today coming back from frisco and it was a little dissapointing. but on the upside the weather was starting to look very promising and they have blown a bit of snow in areas. I think with some help from mother nature and some serious snowblowing they could make it by friday
 
I heard that loveland wasnt even trying to be the first this year. Its A-Basins turn, they most definatly can have a run up within a week
 
bitches, it opens the 13th. Do you have any idea of how much fucking snow they can make? theyre opening this weekend. But if they don't, but they will, they will wait to next weekend because they wont open in the middle of the week. So it will either be this fri or sat or next fri or sat.
 
it will be close i think abasin has a little bit better coverage right now, but loveland will a make more snow so i could see somehting open this weekend since it's going to be below 32 pretty much all week.
 
i was up there (a basin) yesterday, they have a semi snake trail of blown snow snaking down the mountain that i hiked up and had some turns down, at the time i was hiking it had started to snow, im back here in slc and cold temps are setting in for a lil bit of a stretch and i can only imagine it would be the same in co, so theyll be able to blow some more snow. plus my friend who knows the shit going on at a basin has been saying around next week (15th/16th) or so

anyways i hope loveland of a basin opens soon so we can all shred some GNARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
 
the cam is looking better. Within 1 day, they covered the run. In 5 more days, they can blow enough snow to open. It is a question of wheather or not the temperatures will allow them to blow snow during the day. YEEAAAAAAAAA
 
yah can anyone confirm that a-basin is open this weekend? i mean, i'll drive up there and hike if need be, but it would be nice to get a ride up.

same topic, anyone from springs going up?
 
im from Junction and im for sure going up with my friends if its opening, good ol' five mountain pass of course, but seriously i need to ski so someone please fill me in

I heard A-basin is opening this weekend no matter what but Loveland might be this friday or probably next, my "inside man" changed his mind when i talked to him yesterday
