Sorry if this has been posted a million times already, but I've been gone for a while. Seeing as it's ski season again, I figured I'd head on back here and see what's going on.

Two seasons ago I got a pair of Line Skogen Sprangs and one of the first pairs of Line Reactor bindings. I was not impressed with either the skis or the bindings; the skis seemed fragile and noodly, and the bindings were heavy, tall, had inconsistent performance, and felt rather delicate and cheap. Needless to say, I sold the skis and bindings on eBay and bought myself some K2 PEs with Look P12 bindings.

Now that Line is making the Reactor bindings again, and this time in larger quantities, what's the story with it? Is it completely unchanged? Or have they improved it since I had mine?

The reason I ask is because I was just cruising the Line website, and first I saw the new Skogen pro model, which looks pretty damn sweet. It's very stiff and fairly fat, which would be good for me. I also saw the binding test video where they compare the Line binding to a Look binding, and it was a little bit scary when the test machine broke before the Look binding would release in the heel. So now I'm suddenly interested in Line skis and bindings again, despite my previous experience.

To make a short story long, does anybody have experience with the current crop of Line bindings and the new Skogen pro model? Thanks.

Oh yeah, one more thing I forgot to ask: are the Line pros actually using the Line bindings this time around? Cuz I remember when the bindings were first released, none of Line's pro skiers were using them. Has this changed?

its not as much of an option anymore...if line wants any sales the pros have to be on them....they're metal this time...heavier than a fucken ancor from what i felt, but you'll get ppl who say they're lighter than p12s...i dont konw, they're supposed to be better, but the vid is a bit fishy, and i have a feeling that kind of stress is rarly seen skiing normally

 
they changed the bindings a bunch supposedly. and those new skogens are quite stiff, and have pretty burly edges too

Strode, do you know exactly what they changed on the bindings? Cuz the ones I had were all plastic except for the main frame, and they were pretty much pieces of junk that rattled and moved around when they weren't supposed to. The brakes bent really easily on mine too.

no clue on specifics, but the couple kids i've seen riding them this year have nothing but good things to say

they are solid aircraft aluminum from what line says, tho almost every grade of aluminium is used in aircraft production so thats not too special...but its not plasic....and its fixed i guess....but ike a said, heavy...you'll be shocked at how heavy your skis will feel once the binding is on them...wait it out one year...then if everything appears awsome, get em

 
Oh yeah, I would definitely wait until next season to get new skis and bindings. My current PE/P12 setup hasn't even seen 1 whole season yet, and it's a great ski/binding combo. I was just being a curious consumer whore and trying to bring myself up-to-date on what's going on with Line and their new goodies.

From what I understand, the pros were not skiing them becuase they had other binding sponserships that needed to run out first...makes sense to me...plus you don't want your pros being ginny pigs for something like bindings, they could get hurt if something went wrong...they are riding them now.

Axle, you keep claiming how heavy they are, have you actually ridden them? The bindings are a few grams heavier than a look pivot. Not even noticeable on your foot. And being that they mount with a 4 hole pattern, there is no swing weight on the ski, making spins much easier.
