Just for the sake of the argument lets say that the current adiministration is wrong........no administration whether Right or Left would ever say this because it would be extremely harmful for our country, for Iraq and for all the families around the world who have sent their sons and daughters into this war to not have them return, and for everyone in Iraq (either Iraqis or military). It would just be stupid to go into Iraq and just leave with all the insurgents taking over and without helping to rebuild the country.

Second no administration Bush, or if Kerry had won would have pulled completely out of Iraq, that would be a huge mistake. You need to grasp the results that would be caused if they pulled out completely, that is why this hasn't ever been an option with Bush or with Kerry (when he was campaigning) It is only an option for the crazy left/right extremists, and the occasional 14 year old on Newschoolers.
 
Actually wiki is a horrible source for information since it can be easily adjusted by anyone who wants to add "info." Any political science professor who is remotely legitimate will mark down your grade significantly if you reference Wiki.

The Bush administration never said Saddam and Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 they just said the perpetrators and Saddam's authoritarian rule were similar in their intentions and motives. Iraq has long been known to be a terrorist training ground and translated documents prove so. It is suspected that at least 3000-8000 terrorists had been trained in Iraq at training camps such as Salman Pak.

Just because WMD were never found in Iraq does not meant hey never existed. It is KNOWN fact that Hussein had previously used WMD against the Kurds.

Every major intelligence agency in the world (CIA, MI-6, German intelligence, Russian intelligence, French intelligence, the UN, and even Egyptian intelligence,among others)believed that Iraq had or was currently in the process of restarting his WMD program and there is still strong significant evidence to support such theories. Also, Saddam never let UN Weapon inspectors into certain areas that they wanted to search, such as Saddam's palaces. The UN also gave Iraq ample (at least a month) warning they were going to conduct searches.

The warrantless wire taps have not been proven illegal by anyone yet nor will they be. If it were illegal do you really think that Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee would have allowed the program to continue after being informed about it as early as 2003? Secondly, are you really that upset that the NSA is wire-tapping phone conversations between suspected terrorist from overseas and people within the United States? You bash the phone taps yet say 9/11 was preventable, yet you seem to be oblivious that the majority of the terrorists that committed the terrorists attacks on NYC had been living within the United States years before 9/11 actually occurred.

we are there to help set up a government, if we were not there and IRaq being in the state that it is right now.. the surrounding countried would have a field day raiding Iraq for land since that would have absolutely no way of fighting back..

believe it or not there are such things as "war crimes", and dropping the A-Bomb's were considered war crimes, although it didn't matter because the U.S obviously came out on top.

idk if u know this but there was an event on december 7th 1941 called Pearl Harbor where the Japanese attacked a naval base in Pearl Harbor..

in our response we dropped the atomic bomb..

i would consider neither of thoes war crimes.. they are mearly acts of war..

They were not a threat because they had no WMD... even if you'd like to argue that they were a threat, certainly there were many other countries who were a greater threat and still are. Like I said... off by one letter.

No, because no one's going to read 30 pages of academic journals. Wiki isn't all that academic, but it's clear, easy to read, and really is almost always factual... even if it doesn't necessarily have ALL the facts, it has the basic info you need to understand something. And it has articles about more or less everything. If you're curious want more info on something, wiki is great. We're not writing essays here, just trying to make a point.

If a source isn't credible for papers then how can it be credible for internet arguments? Are you suggesting that misleading and unproven information is a credible basis for your point of view just because it is displayed through an argument on the internet?
 
I think JD is referring more to the actual quality of work itself as opposed to simple fact checking. Though I would argue if you need to consult Wikipedia for information, you haven't really thought much about a topic to begin with.
 
You sure like exaggerating... Wiki isn't misleading. It's just not academically peer-reviewed. If I want to find out real quick what happened at Amritsar, I don't need to read scholarly political analysis of it for an hour and a half. I just need wiki for 5 minutes. That's why it's good for e-arguments... if people are talking about an event and you don't happen to know what it was, you can link them to it and they'll go "oh, now I understand". Amazingly, some of us have LIVES, and e-arguments really aren't all that important. If you're that skeptical that you doubt everything everyone else says because "BUT U READ IT ON WIKI AND WIKI MITE BE A TAD SLANTED IN ITS PRESENTASHUN OF EVENTS CUZ PPL CAN CUNTRIBUTE TO IT LOL", well, I think you need to calm down for a minute and remember that you're on a website here.
