This Happend.....

if you cant tell it bent almost vertical, I face planted after doing a 180 and then stood up and yeah....

Other than the obvious of bending it back what should i do? should i cut the brake down so its not so long?
And any tips on how to bend it back without snaping it.
 
Either way its not going to bend so just use pliars or omething and bend it up

i have to do that like every day casue my brakes are so screwed up
 
i dont see whats wrong with it... the brakes look fine with the closer break bent back just a little bit which shouldnt be a problem... i can tell but as ur description says is it like straight out like parallel with the top of the ski? if so then jus bend it back it should be fine
 
if you look close enough, it looks like when he puts his boot in, the brake arm's dont come up enough... they would still be dragging in the snow......... they look like they are almost a 90degree angle on the ski..
 
no pliers. i've been using this exact same binding for 3 years now, and i've had this happen a few times. every time it happened, i've just slowly bent the brakes with my hands back to how they should be. SLOWLY. havn't ever broken them doing it, and they still seem strong as can be. i've done it 6 or 7 times one a specific pair i have, and it's still fine. just bend back with your hands. don't use pliers. slowly...

and yes, it will bend. either way, it WILL bend, because if he bent them with his body weight by exploding fakie, then he can bend them back with his hands. leverage is an amazing thing. ;)
 
don't use pliers, and don't use your hands. get a tube or a pipe and put the brake into it and use leverage to bend the brake. A broken ski pole works wonders
 
Yeah, this ahppens all the time when you don't bend your brakes properly by taking them apart before you put them on your skis. I am going to guess that you just mounted them and pulled the brakes out to fit the skis. With turntables, even if you're riding an 85mm wide ski, you should take the bindings apart and rebend the brakes. That way they will be parallel to your skis, and not sticking out. When they stick out they catch on switch landings. I went through this on my old skis before I knew you should take them apart and bend them, even for skinny skis.

Now when I put them on park skis, I take them apart and rebend the brakes. You don't even need to bend them farther out. Just straightening them, and rebending in the same place is enough for 80-85mm skis. The more gradual radius of the new bend will make them wider. Then they will be close to your boot when you click in. And make sure you make them nice and high when clicked in. Away from the snow.

But for you, ya just click in, sit down, and pull on them. I would have to do this almost every day with my old skis.
