gosh i saw snowboarder wearing saga a line skis hoodie a go pro twall full tilts and a jiberish beanie and couldnt even put his bindings on and i got so mad that he supported the ski industry so i took it into my hands killed him and put his body in a ditch

who cares if he has a gopro, all that means to you is that he's supporting the company, which in turn will allow them to make better cameras, benefiting all of us

Next time you see someone like this, think to yourself... "Hey, maybe this kid is just trying to have fun. Maybe he's just learning a new sport I love (and yes equate skiing and snowboarding as the same sport.} I used to absolutely suck at some point as well." And in regards to his GoPro, maybe his parents, who don't understand winter sports at all, bought him something to not only make him happy, but also so he can show them what he is learning to do. This kid may have been not only providing himself with fun by learning to snowboard, but also enlightening others who don't even know what a ski slope looks like. I don't mean this as direct attack to the OP, but as an attempt to hopefully affect everyone who reads this to stop and think a second before you call someone " GAPER ! " or " POSER ! " . We all support the industry in our own way, and no one spent their first day on the hill sliding DFD rails on twin tips in XLT outergear.

one guy on Obsetheds with very unique gear and outerwear

AND

another guy on a race snowboard with the very same unique gear and outwear

OR

the same person switching between skiing and boarding. the race board used ski boots. nothing was different from helmet to boots- it was all exactly the same. but if he switched out, he did it like every lap. quickly.

CONFUSED THE SHIT OUT OF ME TODAY, but I didn't wanna make a thread. and seymourians, please fill me in on what this is

i was riding singles and got on the lift with some guy who immediately turnes to his friends and started to hate HARD on any and all filming of skiing, whether from POV or filming other people. i had to tell him what it was all about; but being a douche from NJ, he didnt even want to try to understand.
 
Today I saw a park rat with a gopro...he was swishing his tails around and trying to look super cool on the way to the park to cover up the fact that he didn't actually know how to ski.

...I bet he could do a box and a 360 though, so he's totally allowed to have a Gopro.
 
Well I'm pretty sure that if he was a snowboarder and wearing Full Tilts, than yeah i agree that i would be pretty hard to put his bindings on..

Everyone and theyre mommy has go pros now. Not hating at all, i love them, but theyre so much more common then i every thought
 
i knew before even opening this thread that it was going to be a shit show of "he's just having fun, don't be mean". i think its awesome though. think about it, these gapers are going to do 2 runs with their gopro/contour whatever and realize that watching themselves pov is fucking boring when they suck. In a few weeks youll be seeing these popping up on craiglist for super cheap.

OP i was on my mountain and i saw ski patrol with a empty sled going down. and i was like dude what a poser. hes not able to do that. hes not good enough. he doesnt even have a tall tee to have twin tips. OMG

and i saw him again today, except this time he was turning and snowboarding a lot better. so i feel bad for hating
 
just remember, you went through the same stages of learning. there was one point where you could hardly pizza and french fry, so knocking this kid for learning how to enjoy the snow and the outdoors doesn't really make you "the man" at all, brother.
