I've tried everything...

holding my head back

putting vaseline in my nostril

plugging it with toilet paper

and nothing works. so its been bleeding for about 2 hours now and was wondering what you guys do to make your nose stop flowing like niagra falls
 
a bag with ice on your neck will probably help ... or the head in the sink and let cold water float over your neck - Doc would also be an opinnion after two hours!
 
idk if this is good for you but whne i have one i just keep sniffing until it stops i also heard that if you push down on the vein above your top two teeth in your mouth that it will help cut off the circulation so your nose bleed will stop
 
yeah dude go to the hospital, and get someone to drive you cause i would be afraid of passing out after two hours of losing blood
 
go to the ER if it starts again, they will coiterize it which is easy and fast.

ghengis khan died from a nosebleed at night when he was sleeping.
 
Guess it's too late now but put ice on the back of your neck. It slows the bloodflow to your head reducing the volume of blood rushing out your nose :) also tilt your head forward
 
What you also could do is tape something around your little finger. When your right nostril is bleeding you must tape something around your left little finger. And vice versa, it's a tip I got from my old judo-teacher.
 
the correct thing to do in a nosebleed is to tilt your head forward while catching(if you will) the dripping blood with a towel

leaning forward keeps the blood out of your throat and windpipe.

if the nosebleeds doesn't give up

then hit up the em room or your doctor
 
go to the hospital if they cant get it to stop bleeding they might give you a tad of synthetic cocaine because it restricts blood flow it happened to my grandpa (claim)
 
i have a blood disorder where i used to get sever hour long nose

bleeds. during them i would loose about a leter of blood. if youve had

this nose bleed more than once ide bet you have the disorder too. its

not a big deal. all you can do is plug youre nose and wait it out. you

can stuff a pape towel in you upper lip and that will slow it down.

just make shure yo get a lot of iron after your nose is done bleeding
 
ive had one last maybe half an hour to an hour. it was because i had taken lots of advil or something, and i was sick, so my blood got thinner. 2 hours is pretty ridiculous though, i would see a doctor
 
2 hour nose bleed means something must of cut the vein(you picking your nose too deep). You should really go see a doctor cuz it should take a lot less time for your blood to coagulate and stop the bleeding.
 
i have a sever blood disorder and it IS a big deal. ive almost died quite a few times, from internal bleeding as well as blood loss.
i have a low platelate count. platelates stop bleeding, i have 20,000 the average human has about 300,000 at 18,000 you can bleed out of your pores. it can definately be a big deal if your blood is fucked.
 
alright just to clear up whats been said.

1. i didnt pick my nose

2. i dont do coke

3. it just spontaneously happened

4. its the first time ive had a nosebleed for this long

5. it didn't have any "after-shock"

6. im on ns now so its all good

thanks for this tips i'll be sure to try some of these next time i get one hoping it wont last as long...then ill hit up the doc
 
i take back my claim, i did a little quick wikipedia-ing and found no really conclusive evidence on the deaths of either atilla the hun or genghis khan (although attila the hun would have fit my analogy more appropriately haha)
 
Word i had my nose cauterized by putting acid on a q-tip and burning the insides walls of my sinuses to seal everything up. However, that only lasted for about a year and now i get heavy duty ones that take a roll of toilet paper to stop, it sucks.
 
one time I had a heavy flow of blood coming out of my nose, and it was when we were living in a hotel so I just kept on looking at myself in those huge ass mirrors in the bathroom. There was blood everywhere in the bathroom, and it didn't stop for like 15 mins. I felt light headed afterwords just because there was sooo much blood coming out.

it seriously looked like someone was murdered in the bathroom.
