I just got a letter saying that I have a warrant for not registering for the selective service. 5 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. Fuck that.
 
you have too when your 18. but don't be a fucking retard go down to the station, explain you didn't know and fill the shit out
 
They are supposed to send you all that shit in the mail. It isn't your responsability to go and find them about enlisting, who in the right mind is going to do that. I never got anything when I turned 18 so I guess im just waiting for my arrest warrant.
 
I don't understand how the US military works. Do you have to serve once your 18 for a certian number of years?
 
yah dude, if you ask me, they should warn you before they give you bullshit like that.. so what you should do is go down to the police station and sort it out.. or go register first.. then be like haha you douchebags who's not registered now mutha fukka's. haha
 
I got a letter like that today too, but it was just a warning, even though I registered in Sept and again in December because they didn't remember. Fuckin idiots.
 
And I did register today. They sent me the form with the letter. They said if I send it in they'll drop the warrant. If they didn't get it in 10 days they were gonna come to my house and charge me with refusing to register or some bullshit.
 
i hope you are not serious. if you are, wow. you have to sign up for selective service. you can get out of the draft later if there is one by being a consientous objector and other stuff.
 
they warned me. gave me a 2 month warning - granted the warning came out 2 weeks after i turned 18. i was just being lazy and didnt turn the stuff in.
 
i thought getting your license was like a contract that basically says, "since we (the gov) gave you this license, we can select you for the draft." i remember when i filled out a thing to get a replacement permit, i had to sign on a line and it said. "by signing here, you agree to be chosen for selective service" or something...
 
i did it. its not like your actually gonna go to jail. cuz its not really draft dodging cuz there isnt one.

Funny story actually, straight from the mouth of a US Marine...they're sending recruits for a 6 week mountain range training exercise in Norway...something they didn't do to recruits when entering Iraq looked possible, that was all just desert combat training and basic.....hmm.
 
i just dont wanna be killed at 18 because the goverment decides that i have to fight in a war i dont back. fuck that if it comes down to helping my country reguardless of it being the right thing to do or not id like to be around and experiance more than what i have
 
Dude if you believe that hardcore in it, then just fucking move to another country and gain residency, honestly. If not, then shut the fuck up and do your civic duty you ungrateful bastard.
