So schlopy did a triple 1980

Although I know this isn't directed at me, I'll speak.

I know it's not like aerials at all, too many different factors.

I love the progression, I do. It's happening so fast, it's just crazy. But it's just from what I saw on the video, I'm not impressed.

I love seeing big doubles and triples go down, I do. Bobby's was sick. That impressed me, didn't look whipped, looked smooth, clean and had style.

It's just when I see things whipped like Schlopy's, it's kinda gross. I see it as an arms race, go bigger and bigger, but each time someone goes bigger, it's just not practical.

I've been following freeskiing for a little over 7 years now, I've seen the trends, I've seen what's worked, what hasn't and what people have done, then looked at and said "hmm...well there has to be a way to make that better". We're always going to try and make something better, but there's a difference between baby steps and trying to jump up a set of stairs.

In all though, crazy to see that this has happened, just say it might be too big of a step.

I woke up this morning swearing I would never try a triple, but when I miraculously made it to finals I thought, why not... so I tried it and landed on my face. Sorry, I dig style way more, you wont see this again unless it looks like it will be fun and possible, haha.

haha truth. and yeah, that is a problem... I was about to try and go no dubs tonight... oops shout out to Laurant for being so boss.

i am so amazingly jealous of your skill to be able to try this even, keep throwing whatever you want and go as big as you can!

i dont get why everyone is so pissed. it's just like when you're out with your buddies and you all try to one up eachother. it pushes you to try new stuff and you could careless what it looks like, just having fun.

When you're done being an asshole, go look at previous X big-air jumps, and/or see what competitors have thought of them. They're consistently undersized and often flat with little pop or loft...not exactly an ideal scenario to get all triple happy.
Who knows what will happen this next year, but that other guy's assumption was at least an educated guess whereas yours is completely pulled out of your ass.
Torstein, Bobby, Sammy, and Russ (at least) all would've tossed triples had the jump been accommodating, instead, Torstein threw a gross triple backflip 180 and Russ died trying one in practice. Not to mention, many years big-air jump is simply one of the slopestyle jumps...no guarantee whatsoever that the jump will be big enough.

when you spin past an 1800 in SSX tricky atleast it just says ?????? across the bottom. SCHLOPY BEAT SSX

holy jesus. he didnt really even get close to landing on his feet, but its just a matter of time till someone does that

ive never seen so many pro responses, this is gold. the fact that scholpy can just decide weither he likes doing triples or not is nuts, i feel like most pros just do whatever they can to do well in comps. big up!

Looked pretty sick. Andreas' octo dub was really clean. Same with Elias' triple. Everything was really stomped. It is crazy how good people are getting.

no. i refuse to believe that a human being can spin 5 and a half times, while flipping 3 times...............................and not be an arial skier

That's why I hope Dylan Furgeson doesn't compete in Big AirI love his skiing but he started out with aerials and went to park skiing later on so it would only further advocate "skiing=aerials".
