The ammo is so shitty though,I can think of 2 separate occasions where the bolt has just broken because of the quality of the ammunition.
 
Do you keep your weapon loaded with the sub par rounds? This could lead to problems if you ever have to use it.

It's not mine, it's my uncle's. He bought it for shits and giggles. I fired it and the casing deformed somehow and wouldn't eject. Straight up got stuck in the gun, and not in the way a regular casing would. It actually almost melted?( I don't know how else to explain it)

if i was ever to purchase a gun, it would have to be a .45 like the ones posted a little above me. Those are beautiful weapons. And admittedly, i grew up playing world war II games and it was featured in every one. Can't wait for someone to look retarded by saying i want a gun due to video games.
 
That was kinda me.

Two months before my 21st my dad took me to a gun shop to look at pistols. He has a .44 magnum and .22 revolver (both revolvers) and he was looking at the .357 magnums (they can shoot the much cheaper .38 special ammo) and asked if I would like one.

I immediately went to the 1911 .45s and looked at those and he asked why.

"One, they are a historic gun and are still in service and are the gun that almost every other semi-auto pistol is based on now. Two, you hated the one you had in the Navy and maybe its time we get a pistol in the house that doesn't require a re-cocking after every shot. And three, I always used them in video games and I want a real one to shoot"
 
the springfield 1911 is what turned me on to 1911s. rented one at a philly gun club cuz i had time to kill, and it was so accurate and felt so much more substantial than my Sig 9mm
 
i do partially agree here, but some people own guns and like guns as a hobby. i personally dont like them, i prefer pets. but it is a hobby for some people... and yes that may sound silly but if people are willing to pay money for guns, people are not going to stop selling guns.

1911's are awesome and one will probably be my next purchase, but if I had the money it would be on a USP 45.

I think I am going to get a SA mil-spec for CCW.
 
If you already have a Sig you might really enjoy the Sig 220 .45acp or a Heckler and Koch USP variant. personally i think their the most stable accurate and reliable offensive .45's
 
I have been looking to get an AR15 or possibly a Winchester Model 12 20 gauge (my dad has like, 2000 shells of 20 gauge shot laying around).

Or, possibly a .357 Magnum.
 
for an AR look at Daniel Defense or BCM, these guys make high quality weapons, while not being grossly expensive. Don't worry about the fancy stuff like railed forends, lights and optics yet. You can spend that money down the road when you have a better idea of what you want. Just get a good solid platform, and learn to shoot on the irons. I suggest a 16inch barrel (if you want it for all purpose) with a mid or rifle length gas system.
