Precisely. If I'm writing a research paper, wiki is one of the first places I look for this exact reason.

And like snwbrdmilf noted, Wiki is actually pretty accurate compared to other encyclopedias.
 
what a lot of people don't know is that wiki has alot of moda and admins cruising around 24/7, so whenever something is edited they filter it/check it for accuracy.
 
hey if u edit shit that isnt true the moderators will delete it. people get payed money to go through every day to check the shit that isnt true and if u edit stuff as a joke they will suspend u from wiki
 
it's true. yesterday I kept editing the Lifehouse article by adding an "interesting facts" section that said "skiing is cooler than lifehouse." it was deleted within a few minutes. after doing it several times I got a message that basically said stop doing that.
