He comes around the bend and goes right into a ditch with his honda civic.

FWD drifting is a bad idea..

Efforts to get it out with a truck

Final damage.. massive dent and crack in the bumper.. flat tire.. probably other problems that we havent found yet. How does he explain to his parents?

He should tell them that he killed someone. That way when they find out about this they wont care as much.

fucking city folk....

not pull it STRAIGHT OUT. I would have lined the truck up towards the camera, so it pulled out at an angle where the hill wasn't so steep.

There is no lie that your friend can tell his folks that they won't smell a mile away.

He was being a dumbass, and trying to show off, and he got burned.

apparently you dont see the large concrete structure that the car struck. pulling the car into the concrete would not have worked? and judging by what happened we were too worried about anything else happeneing to the car. more worred about getting out before staff at our school found out..

you are still not getting what we are saying, you should have pulled it out at an angle opposite the camera man in the first picture, rather then straight over the sharp angle that easily could have done a lot more damage to the underside of the car

Definitely would have been a lot better and easier. but by the time we realized it was already fucked and stuck on the edge of the hill

^Skip Barber will teach you how to drive. He's also a really nice guy, my mom worked at Limerock for a while.

Tell him to

If you do stupid shit you face the consequences.

No an idiot can get it in and out of the ditch. His friend is a fucking retard for driving a fucking civic into a ditch.

hahaha yo i got the same exact car in black when i first started driving i tried to drift around this dirt road bad idea similar out come but i didnt crash like 6 inches from a tree hah

Just tell your parents you some some black drug dealers smoking pot and you were running away so you didnt get brain damage. They saw you and threw rocks at you so you freaked out and lost control.

That's the most exciting thing you've ever seen?

He lightly rolled onto the grass and kind of got stuck on the side of a ditch.

Tell him to crash it better next time

That is extremely dangerous. That car is probably 3500 lbs. General rule of thumb for snatch straps are 2X the weight of what you are pulling. You have to factor in length and inclines also. That rope could have broken and sliced someone in half.

a small compact car is generally around 2500 lbs, therefore the 6100 lb test line would be more than double and perfectly suitable for that situation. still not something to fuck with though

Yeah but it's already done so whatever. I posted this cause I thought it was funny. Didn't think it would provoke critics judging how we pulled it out using resources we already had.

that's still the snapping point, safe working range will be much lower then that. and that doesn't factor in the extra forces of shock when you pull the vehicle out. Iv done many recoverys, my strap is rated for 30000lbs. I was once hung up on a rut with my front skid plate and rear diff at 3 in the morning in water. me and my buddy managed to get it out by doubling straps length wise so his 2 wheel drive jimmy which is a lot smaller then my truck could jerk me out inch by inch by taking up 2-3 feet of slack in the strap. You STILL don't know shit

Does it look like I want to be a professional at getting cars out of ditching. What part of WE USED WHAT WE HAD don't you understand?

no no I completely understand, why take the time to get proper equipment to do it safely when you can use what you have and risk further damage to the vehicle and persons
