So microsoft hopped on the slim console wagon

does anyone have a price for the new xbox? all I want to do is play the same games, keep my old hard drive and info on it, and not deal with RROD

my xbox now RROD'd like 5 times and freezes every time now, does anyone know if this new one will take away all my troubles and also when I can get it?
 
so i can't take my HDD from my old xbox and use it on the new ones? that makes alot of sense practically I suppose (new design warrants new harddrive design) but thats still gay as hell.

guess I'm getting one of the cheap older ones then. which i was going to do anyways
 
*Facepalm*. Yesterday on the E3 Expo in L.A, Microsoft pre-released "Project Natal". Project Natal has been renamed to Kinect, a motion detection sensor similar to that of the PS2's EyeToy, which has now been renamed to EyeCamera.
 
$299 for built in really fast wifi and a 250gb hd-really good deal! And no you can't just throw your old hard drive on there but Microsoft has released a transfer cable for $20, or if you don't feel like shelling out the $20 you can just transfer it over in pieces with thumb drives, and depending how much data you have on there the thumb drive might be your best bet.

does anyone know the exact, actual price of the old xbox's now? (id only need like an arcade one and nothing else to replace my current one)
 
I'd be surprised if they did away with Live subsriptions. Wayyyyyy too much revenue potential to give away.
 
You have two options. Option 1: Return it and get the new one. Option 2: Return it, get your money back and get the same one you have now from a different store and gain $100 dollars of whatever it is from that.
 
I have no problem with the Xbox I have now. It doesn't bother me that its bigger and runs hotter, I don't move it that much. If it overheats, I'll just get at their customer service

Can anyone tell me why M$ just spent 2-3 years re-making the sammmme game system. The xbox is 6 years old! look at PC's the graphics on them is getting so far ahead I almost dont want to play my xbox anymore because the games are just not as interactive
 
I see so are we gunna have another 4 year period with Kinect and wii style games... I just dont see COD getting any better with this motion control system.
 
there's a kit you can get to transfer stuff from your old hard drive into the new xbox. it's just a USB on one end and the other end hooks into your old hard drive.
 
ive been playing this a lot lately. I'm trying to beat all the games on super mario all stars. Was so close to beating Super Mario Bros 3 (without magic whistles) and got mad and yanked the controler which made the game freeze and delete all the memory on the game. :(
 
i cant think of any reason to buy the new one, no performance difference, and i download the games i play a lot to my HD so its always really quiet. they changed the colour and moved some things inside and now its 300$ again, marketing at its most blunt
