So many "!" in itunes

ive had my pc for about 4 years now

ive been using limewire since about 2.5 years ago.

i was trying to get a bunch of songs together for edits i was gunna use in 07/08, but now like out of 1000 songs i have in there, about 800 have fuckin "!" points next to them.

wtf is going on, im getting an imac soon, and i want to transfer all of my music to the new imac, but i cant because of all the exclamation points saying "file cannot be found"

but, as you probably know, they're still on my ipod everytime i update it.

help please.

it means they were moved. did you move them? or maybe they were deleted?

exactly, when ever you move the files from the original folder after they are in itunes it is claiming that they are not there, so you have to go find them

if you no where they are at on your comp, just delete them from itunes and readd them from their current locations

assuming that you have everysong in iTunes on your ipod I would deleate all of your itunes songs. Then plug your iPod in and find it on the explorer. Then go to tools -> folder options and check show hidden folders. Then select all the folder (they will be like F45, F23) and drag them onto your desktop in a single folder. Then import them into itunes.

I went through the same thing a while ago. Sorry if that sounds retarded, it's kindof hard to explain.

yea the ! marks means that the file was either renamed/moved/deleted/ cant be found or whatever

so yea unless you go back manually and search your different hard drives for the songs you want...your pretty much fucked!!!
