and i think it's bullshit that we think his book is such a classic.
i believe we all have a different concept of utopia.
so what's yours?
ill start.
minimal waste/pollution.lack of obesitypeace, love and understanding.

so how bout you NS?

Your title probably went right over the heads of 90% of this site, but since I made the effort to post:

Utopia = happiness. A world where everyone can have whatever they want to make themselves happy without infringing on others. So for me, a lodge in the hills with a autopiloted heli and cat, some sleds, and endless powder days to shred with friends.

my utopia: newschoolers would be a mountain, instead of coming home from my daily activities to a lap top to talk about skiing with some great people, i would shred with all of you in my free time, and instead of threads and forums, it would simply be chairlift conversations.

A utopia for me would be death or ignorance. I honestly don't think a utopia is possible, at least by most people's idea of what it would be. For everything to be perfect there would be downfalls for people to triumph over. How could you be happy if you didn't make a difference? If you were none of this would matter. None of the joys, sorrows, pains, or regrets. If you just existed you would just be ignorant and none of this would matter either. I also think junkies are in there own utopia. They don't care about anything so they have nothing to worry about. On the other hand, my utopia would be walking for days across unknown lands somewhere, surviving off the land and making new discoveries. I was born 2 centuries later than I should have been.

dude youre totally missing the point. This book is canonical primarily because in makes a statement about our search for Utopia (ie. Heaven) and the unattainable nature of our dream world. The title is actually quite satirical cause although we associate "utopia" with a perfect peaceful place, iMore created the word from greek and it is meant to mean "no place", an allegory for how unattainable this place would be.

also i find it ironic how selfish all your "Utopias" are, because More made it a point that human self interest is one of the largest barriers to a utopian society.
