Yeah I'm sure he ranks right up there with Andrew Jackson who forced the Native Americans to walk thousands of miles on the trail of tears to reserved living areas.
Or maybe Rosevelt who put innocent Japanese Americans into specified camps and caused them to lose their jobs, homes, and in some cases families.
What about Nixon, I mean he did CHEAT and get caught with it in the election. Watergate Scandal anyone? Also helped cause Middle Eastern Violence that we are dealing with today.
How about Lyndon B Johnson? I mean, he did initiate the most unsuccessful war ever having to do with America.
Dwight D. Eisenhower. A former general who later became president. Let's take a look at some of the things he did...
1. Added the phrase "under god" to the pledge of allegience.
2. Was a very major cause to the problems in Iran that we are dealing with today by installing a genocidal dictator.
3. Fucked over Guatemala by overthrowing a democratically elected official.
4. Fucked over Cambodia the same way as listed before.
5. Fucked over Congo as the same reason before.
6. Fucked over Indonesia and was responsible for murders and terrorism of THOUSANDS of innocent people.
What about Woodrow Wilson?
An open racist who SEGREGATED the federal government. He also helped make racist laws and racist scenarios for most of the states in the south and even some northern states. He INVADED Haiti and the Dominican Republic which led to a major cause of why they are third world countries at the moment. Also was the cause for the "Palmer Raids" (Google Palmer Raids if you don't know what they are.) Also passed the espionage act and the Sedition act.
Look, I disagree with almost everything Bush does, but you need to learn your history. There is a reason we are the largest super power in the world and it will really help if you knew the mistakes of former presidents that almost nobody knows today. It's truly sad that people think Bush is the worst president ever when there have been presidents DIRECTLY linked to the massacres and occupation of countries that have had nothign but suffering for the past hundred years.

But yeah, back to bashing Bush...
He is an incredibly close-minded person as to the historical problems of the Middle East. He refuses to take into consideration of former attempts to make peace in the Middle East. Frankly, it is quite obvious that Bush doesn't want peace in the Middle East. It is quite a very simple solution to create peace in the region. Stop having military bases in Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iraq, Kuwait, etc. It isn't necessary to have a military presence in those countries. We have increased the amount of military force in every one of those regions.
Also, the economy is going to have to change sometime. Eventually, the internal combustion engine has to be replaced and alternative fuels will have to be used, but no politician wants to take the initial hit of the first bullet. This is going to fuck over our society with living conditions. We could be SO much more better off than we are right now, and we could do it at a less expensive cost to the third world countries we are currently raping for resources. We could also use a lot less space and agricultural damaging lands, but being the lazy greedy fucking bastards that sit in our congressional offices, nobody wants to be the person to do it.

Alot of those things you mentioned were attempts to stop the spread of communism. But I totally agree if you think this is bad I just watched a documentary on Robert McNamara called 'The Fog of War' and he explained how they firebombed tokyo (the size of new york) destroying %51 of it and killing over 100,000 innocent women children and men IN 1 NIGHT. And he brought up a really good point if they had lost the war they probably would have been tried as war criminals but since they won suddenly it was morally acceptable to kill that many people? What we're doing regardless of the reasons we are there is nothing compared to the things we've done in the past and if we were winning not many people would care about the iraqi civillians dying every day. Yes, alot of people disagree with the war but I hate how they can accept WWII or Korea because they were successful.

i wish we could find a good president for the next election but it seems like everyone is just a dirty politician. i feel like half of ns could do a better job running the country than any president we've had since truman

Right, but even then, most of the Middle Eastern violence was spawned from the 50's and old issues having to do with Israel and the occupation of many Middle Eastern territories.
Communism was just scratching the surface. There was so much greed buried in the 50's history and nobody saw it because they were too busy worrying about the Russians reaching the moon first, or the Russian missiles in Cuba. It's sad to turn a blind eye to what is really going on in the world, but we do it daily as Americans.

Well I wouldn't say being preoccupied with the stunning chances of nuclear war is unreasonable Mitch. I actually heard that Osama Bin Laden began his hatred for Americans after the Saudi gov't let American troops in their country and he found it offensive because thats where Mecca is and I suppose he would think we are 'unworthy'.

Yeah that's half the story. The other half is Saudi Arabia actually exiled him from his native country. All his religious beliefs were based out of the country and because he didn't agree with the US's military presence in Saudi Arabia and spoke out against it, he was exiled. That was the major cause in why he formed Al Qaeda. That and The Mujhadeen was no longer active.
