I've been waiting my entire lfe for this AMAZING opportunity, but one of my buds from college just invited me out to Vail for a week in January. I can't wait to get out there after skiing east coast ice EVERY DAY!!! Just thought I should share my excitement with the world haha. And for those people who have skied both coasts, how ridiculous of a change is it?

way different. i mean, i cant even describe how much better it is. i guarantee you will leave 5 times better than you were before you came. maybe not in the park, but in terms of traditional skiing for sure

if you can ski on ice, youre not going to get any better at 'traditional skiing' when you go out west and its a hell of a lot easier to do.

dont be a goofus.

true, but the mountains out west are more difficult to ski, ice or not. a black diamond back east is an easy blue at the most out west.and i'm speaking from experience. i've been to a western mountain 3 times in my life (keystone, tahoe area, and whistler) and every time i came home a better skier

i agree, skied jersey most of my life, got a killington season pass 5 or so years ago and hit vermont up alot, then finally went out to whistler 3 years ago, came back better, and went out to vail for two weeks last march and finally skied real powder (end of march dumping if ya'll remember) and i am 100% confident that i am extremely better at skiing than prior to that trip.

true, but ice makes you better when it comes to pow.

have fun matt you bastard, i can even ski and your bitch ass gets to go out west.

haha yes you definitely will. Having grown up in Vermont, skiing trees tight as tits and boiler plate ice all my life i would know. The first time i actually got to charged steeps longer that 25 feet, my eyes were opened

fa shooooo, i wanna go out there again in full winter, it was sick in the spring, cant imagine how off the hook it is in teh winter.

don't worry about how much easier or harder the skiing will be, you will have a fucking blast. hopefully you get an outrageous powder day. i'll never forget my first trip out west. it is why i moved out of the midwest after college.

one tip, look at multi day packages for tickets to reduce the amount of monies you have to spend, or ask around here to see if there are discount lift tickets available anywhere. or even a season pass. could help save some cash

Yo im from the midwest and my first time out west was awesome! Dude ge hyped because its gonna be great. You will improve a lot for sure. Have fun man!

im in the same boat man skied east coast whole life and now im heading out west over thanksgiving break to my buddys out in boulder, co cant wait to ride out there. and hey dont worry il probally be spending 800 bucks of n beer and bud out ther hah

make you life easy and just get an epic pass!! 550 unlimited unrestricted any vail resort and abasin....im going to dever for 24 days dec-jan and bought one saving a bunch of money!!

you dont want to know, might be better to hand someone your card and have them pay for it so you dont see it til after ur done skiing, itll save you the heartattack, but atleast ull have all the epic skiing to look back on.

are you going to summit county? check out abasin, thats where i skied when i was out there for a day, it was such sick skiing, first run 2 feet deep freshies, also from 12-4 i made 4 runs, shits crazy hard to breath compared to NY
