So IDEA is pretty much silly

im going to wait to watch the commentary

i dont want to watch everythign in the 2nd day of having it haha

Yea it's super cool. everyone should check it out, they talk about injuries and all sorts of interesting stuff that affected the outcome of the movie.

dude....i dont think i can describe how much steeze progression is in this......they shouldve called the film "EPIC"

One issue I'm having is the audio tho... the sound is a little messed up in parts, especially when the music is synced over the sound from the scene. Most evident in the barrel scene at PC...

But thats an ant compared to the goodness that is this Godzilla of a ski movie. Its A M A Z I N G.

Rowen you seem to be pretty sharp, that's why I'm suprised you didn't see this post:

Quote Reply hey guys,

i just wanted to let you know why the sound sounds the way it does in some segments....

we made an original soundtrack in your house with instruments and vocals. on top of that we added sound to the whole movie... i have never made a soundtrack before, either have any of the people we worked with. After the movie was done i watched it a couple hundred times on different peoples tv's(like what was described above). I noticed that if you have a HDtv with surroundsound built into it...it might sound a little worse. This should only happen in tv's $600 and up. So, I am sorry rich people i did not have the technology or the experience to make a perfect original soundtrack. I thought thought this comment would happen the first day...but i guess if the movie is good...the movie is good. I can deal with that.

Sorry again guys...hopefully whoever makes the next original sound track will make a better one. I say good luck to them!

thanks again for all the support.

peace,eric

Did anyone notice that there are some of the same cliffs from Biollo's seg in LSS? Biollo 180's first little cliff then zero, and switch 3 - Either pep or andy hit the same line, same tricks. I always loved Biollos seg in LSS, and IDEA is like that all the way through.

I have seriously watched IDEA 7 times in the last four days- it really needs to snow soon

this thread needs a bump:

I got it today. After I got it out of my mailbox I sorta just looked at it for 5 minutes and proceeded to put it into my dvd drive. With a Dr. Pepper in hand, I began to witness something that my eyes have never seen before. The whole vibe of the movie is great. Soundtrack is an original and right on point. I'm listening to it right now. I was skeptical when I heard about the snowboarding segment, but it was pretty sick. The song was perfect for it and you could just tell they were having a hell of a time. The more the movie went on, the more epic it was. The pow segment was redic, and the "headcam" (I think it was said that Pollard was just holding the camera) was really sick and got me stoked. Slow, big rotations were money. I want to go ski right now. I want to ski big pillows.

I live on the east coast?

FUCK

buy this shit.

well, i've had it a little over a week and probably watched it 7-8 times. By far the sickest ski/sports vid i've ever seen. Every segment, the music, everything just flows so well. I think the snowboarding seg is awesome, you can really tell how much fun they're having and the song complements it perfectly. Now I just need to buy some hellbents and find some powder.

i must have... those guys are my fav skiers of all time their whole outlook on skiing is exactly how its supposed to be...

hooray for idea...

oh! so i saw this. blew me away. probably the best ski movie ive seen in a long time. big fan of ibergs work. first "new release" ski movie of this year ive seen, probably not going to watch any of the other new ones now cuz this one does it perfect! yup. ill just watch idea, ir77, and thanks brain all winter. its all i need.

this movie is so good it gives me faith in ski movies once again. (see my thread: https://www.newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/313374/) the snowboard seg was good cuz it kind of made fun of people like me, but also kind of gave us a pat on the back as well. like, "yeah, those snowboarding movies you like are all fun and goofy, heres us overdoing it, but wait, actually, heres us sincerely being goofy and having fun."

one gripe, actually, was the part of the soundtrack that was sort of downtempo electronic production. the samples were obviously and painfully presets, and i see how it is, you work with what you got. but it had that tacky "my G" sound to it. but only for a second. rest of the soundtrack was nice. i enjoyed the live instruments. and the use of random, sometimes mundane and overlooked sounds, taken right from the field recordings, like the gas pump noises and whatnot. that was gold. its the little touches that make it so nice!

wow. so guys like you actually exist? you're like the dude at the fun party who refuses to play charades. haven't you ever heard of being avant garde? its how people keep things like film and photography "fresh." if you're so down for the same old, same old, stay at dad's house and watch basic cable.

there isnt an expletive for me to explain my feelings. The soundtrack was so dope and handplants and pole less and smiles and trees.

The whole movie is about having fun, and I know that Pollard snowboards a lot, and pep likes it too. Andy didnt seem as well versed in it, so i think it was a newer thing for him

i had no clue pep snowboarded before, so when watching this i was like, no way this is his first time! he's switchin it up on that rainbow box, and landing switch (fakie) and stuff. haha i like that they did it to have fun. thats what it should be all about. just the experience.
