So I wrote this email to Bristol...

Hello,
I am writing you this email to propose an idea about holding a fund raising event at Bristol in to aid in the purchasing of new rails. I know that I and many many others at Bristol would be willing to pay up to $15-$20 in order to be registered into a "rail jam" style park event early in the season at Bristol. If something like this is held (once, or maybe multiple times) the money could be used to purchase new rails for the terrain park. An event like this would require very minimal planning and is actually very easy to put into action. Some ideas that you could potentially use the profits for include these two rails that many others and myself at Bristol would be extremely stoked on.

At Bristol, a single barrel Urban-style-get-on rail would be a HUGE hit! Along with a D-F-D rail with an urban-style-get-on. These two features are EXTREMELY popular at other mountains and I know that me and many others at Bristol would appreciate these features tremendously. And basically, it comes down to this. Terrain parks are the future of skiing, and if you have these features, along with the other great features Bristol already possesses, you're going to attract much more skiers and boarders and if you want, could hold even more "rail jams" in order to raise money for the mountain or charities. You can't have too many competitions!
Thanks for reading what I have to say, and I hope you put my plan into action!
Let me know!

Do you guys think this will work? Seems like a good idea to me.

Bristol barely ever responds to emails, but that was really well written brandon. I think if everyone just wrote a sincere email like that, maybe they would take some things into consideration.

What do you guys think would happen if we decided to hold our own park jam with out informing bristol?
Like just getting a bunch of people to come to the park and get a couple of sponsors for prizes and stuff. i don't know if we would be able to take money for an entry fee but maybe donations that we could give to bristol for rails or something. Just as an idea though.

i think they would make us leave if we tried to do something like that without asking, its too bad though, plus i dont want to risk getting my pass taken or anything

I think we would probably have a hard time getting legit sponsors without having bristols approval of the jam in the first place.

i agree... i dont think it will work even though it is a well written email.... i guess we should just hope for the best maybe bristol will agree.... ya never know

lets schedule a meeting with D fuller. get 10 or so skiers in there giving him ideas, shit might work

The most I've gotten back so far is, "Thanks for your suggestion, I'll forward this e-mail to the mountain manager."

IF you guys want to know the real truth, this idea you have is very good, its also very far-fetched. Its not that it would be hard to do, its simply that the racers bring in such a huge profit to them. I bet hundreds of thousands of dollars are brought in each year with racers, just think from how many nights bristol has races. This is the reason they don't need to focus as hardcore on their park as on comet. We simply don't bring in enough cash money for them to care. Sad but true.

I just wrote an email to bristol suggesting they put that box at the bottom of rocket again. (waiting for reply from them)

Knowing bristol, it's not planned at all.

If anything they would plan on having a few race gates on the side of rocket or whatever is open.

But there will be a box or something down there. Either that or people will hack something together.

Got my reply from jerry and he said-

Kevin,

If there is more than a few days between the opening of one of the terrain parks and the opening of the mountain we will bring at least one box and or rail down to the bottom of Rocket.

Thanks for you interest.

Jerry
