...got some X-ray's done. Turns out my back is broken. My T-7 vertebrae is cracked in half. Anyone else had this happen?

not broken, but you know how your back should look like an s from the side sorts? well mine was pretty straight from the side and it had a curve from the back... it was gaysauce.

ummm, not really sure how it happened. the doc said that it could'nt have been from compression because it's too high on the spine, and i haven't crashed real hard since last season, so, i'm stumped.

i've gotten really bad frostbite multiple times, which is the most probable cause of the cold hands syndrome, poor circualtion. Look on the bright side, leaves more blood circulation for other areas.

But, my back bends like 2 degrees to the left....... i'm just screwed up like that.

hell ya that happened to me. I broke it and went to the hospital, and the retarded doctor looked at the cat scan and said I'm good to go. It was hurting like a month later so I got a second opinion and the doctor was like 'fuck, you shouldnt even be walking with it like that' goddam radiologists are retarded.

yeah, i now have a loose ligament in my ankle, because my 3rd degree sprain was called a break and casted by a stupid radiologist when i really needed surgery... o h well.

I have broken my back 4 different times, in 3 seperate places,

In fact I have metal plates where my t-7 used to be

my l-4, and l-5 are 60% seperated and compressed

and my S-1 is split in 2, (cracked down the middle) Dotors told me to quit skiing 8 years ago, 2 blown acls latter i'm kinda wishing i'd quit a long time ago

^you should never quit skiing. I have done the same thing but lower on my back. I cracked my l-3 l-4 after I went into the huge rainbow at PC two years ago with way too much speed fell off the top landed on my shoulders with my legs over my and SNAP. i feel it everyday. The rad tech said the same thing to me (that there was nothing wrong) but that it was probably just muscle spasms around the injury and that I should go to physical therapy and a chiropracter. The chiropracter even adjusted my back. It was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I actually passed out. I then went to another doc and he said that he was suprised that I was able to move my legs at all. It sucked balls. It wouldnt ever make me think twice about skiing or not though.

when you wish you should quit skiing, and you get injured that much from it, its probly not meant to be. i remeber watching dave crichton trying to learn flairs 6 years ago in the spring time in camp fortunes pipe in ottawa and he would go 10 feet out and deck every time, i guess he had broken his back doing that the season before so he started wearing a life jacket, for padding and support. maybe you guys should try that out as well.

I wear a back pad made by RED. It has hard plastic plates on the back that dont make it hard to move. its kinda nice.

yeah i have one made by dianese that i use for racing. never busted it out for freestyle though, weirdly enough.

i broke my neck once and crushed my t-7.. Its ow replaced with metal plates adn is much better stabilised than before...

right, so in 3rd grade me and 2 other kids were playing tag on the playground. my boy max goes up the slide to ditch this cat, and ends up falling over the side, does almost a full front flip and lands on his neck/back. i didn't see him fall, but i saw him on the ground next to the slide; i thought he was crawling under it to hide. so i go over to him, and i was about to smack him and make him 'it', but he's like dude i just fucking fell off the slide! so i get the teacher, and an ambulance comes, and he ruptured 3 vertebrae in his neck. hardcore. he's like a cat, he has 9 lives. he's done so much crazy shit and gotten hurt so many times. he fell longboarding down this huge hill, broke his leg when he was 3, exploded his appendix, jumped out of his window when he was 2 and crawled 3 miles from his house...its pretty fucked up.

Ive broken my leg twice, my arm, my finger, and had a small crack in my skull(and a fucking huge headache). Broken back sounds really shit though. How long did you have it for before the doctor found out?????

 
that really sucks...my dad broke his neck once n his arm went all numb n he couldnt feel anythin for like a couple months
