So i screwed up my knee really bad, could use some help please

yeah so i was super baked and was playing wiffleball, and i was running fullspeed down the first baseline, not noticing that my friend was there being the 1baseman. my left knee hit his knee, and i tumbled and couldnt move my leg for a while, and he got hurt pretty bad too. the knee to knee collision was pretty loud too. ive broken a lot of bones, and torn a ligament in my ankle, but this hurts way more than any of them

now heres the thing: i just got up and could walk decently with a bit of a limp, and it didnt hurt that much. but after a minute i guess the blood rushed down and it started hurting like crazy. the knee is really fat, but the kneecap is fine. it is like the upper outside part of my left knee.

so im wondering, do you guys think it is a bone injury or just a big bruise and inflamation?

oo forgot to mention ill get it checked out first thing tomorrow, but help now would be appreciated and + karma
 
hey man i have no idea to be honest, it could range from a severely bruised knee to a torn MCL/ACL/LCL at the worst. i know when i tore my ACL and MCL i couldn't put any weight on my knee right after i did it, so hopefully you'll be alright and just bruised. good luck homie
 
ir you hit your knee cap, you may have just strained the area around you're patella. If its just hurting around the front of your knee you will probably be fine. If you've got pain on the sides. an MRI wouldn't be out of the question just to be safe
 
MRI. Better to know what's wrong for sure then to fuck it up more later.

(I've been through an ACL and a couple almost re-tears, never fun.)
 
Sounds just like a bone bruise. It doesnt sound bad but i got one one my knee from hitting a rail once and it swelled up huge couldnt walk with it. Its like a ton of super tiny fractures. Really painful more so than breaking my collarbone and lacerating my leg. I would say thats what it is. Normally it happens from hitting something straight on.
 
well all i know is i did the same thing playing football and it sucks.

so we were doing this hitting drill called bull in the ring. it is were the coach calls out two names and the people called out run as fast as they can at eachother and hit with their shoulders.

i was called out along with another kid and both our knees collided head on with both of us running full speed (and yes even though we had the knee pads and everythink when you bend your knee a lot the pants roll up and expose the knee)... and let me tell you i was on the ground for a long fucking time and it hurt like a bitch.

i think it ended up to just be a really big, painful bruise or something but it sucked. so that might be what you got going too
 
well i don't know for bones but for anything involving musles heat is important. The 1st day or two only use ice and then afterwards you want heat.

bursitis. i bet its bursitis. i fell off a bike over spring break real hard and landed on my knee. it swelled up real big and they just told me to ice it and take Tylenol or any kind of acetaminophen. i couldnt ski in the spring until i sucked it up and skied my last day on 4/20 and dislocated my shoulder, then a week later i got mono. life's awesome.

 
are you kidding me? You go to Any physical rehab place and if you have a muscle or ligament injury of any kind, they ALWAYS ice and almost always use ultrasound (heat)

Ice gets the swelling down, heat gets your blood flowing to it again, to HEAL it

Your coach is an idiot
