So I quit smoking weed

I stopped smoking for a week and it was crazy i had so much energy it was crazy! But yes i couldnt sleep and when i did sleep my dreams were really intense and scary.

Ok Mr. Internet tough guy... I'm not 14 at all, so kindly shut the fuck up and go bring your hate somewhere else.

good for you man, good luck with your upcoming court dates.

personally, i'm in the best shape i've ever been in, and in the last two years i've been smoking i've gone from an average A rider to AA (Pro) in dirt bike racing.

to me its like the carrot that i chase. when i'm done mountain biking 10-15 miles, i blaze up, nothing more satisfying!!!

but i totally hear where your coming from, i was just on vacation for a week, looking forward to getting super baked now that my tolerance is down somewhat =D

the lung thing for sure, choose how you smoke wisely.. all you blunt smokers put them down!

Its about personal motivation. I decided to get in better shape and improve myself. I have done so over the last few months without giving up weed at all. I smoke a little less and wait until later in the day but I have made huge improvements over the last few months and have noticed a huge difference.

Thats wicked dude! I love ripping dirt bikes. I feel ya on the blazing&biking, LOVED doing that haha. I still do not see anything wrong with weed, and I know the weed itself is practically harmless, but after over 3 years of smoking a bunch of times daily(for the most part) I just felt it had to come to an end eventually and it just seems like my time. What has been even more devastating is that im sitting on a qp of purple power plant haha.

I do look forward to taking a puff every now and again, I just want to go a couple months without it at all before I talk to my babygirl again. Ive given everyone who posted in this thread full karma, for the props and for the blazers, and for the first time in my NS career Ive made a thread thats gone past one page! haha.

edibles (candy, brownies, cookies, pasta, whatever you wanna make with cannabutter), vaporizors, tinctures... all ways to get high with zero damage to your body.
Also, there is a time and a place for weed. if your excuse for quitting is because you don't want to get caught by the cops... put your shit in a mason jar when driving with it, don't smoke in the car, don't drive high.. your car wont smell, you wont smell, and your eyes wont be cashed and the pigs wont have any idea. oh yeah and keep that shit locked in the glove box or trunk and if for some reason they try to search you (most of the time its BS and they are just trying to scare you into it) deny them and go on your way. Know your rights most importantly.
to people saying they quit because of social situations... don't smoke before you want to interact with certain people.
I really hate it when I see or hear about someone quitting because of the dumbest reasons that can easily be avoided. But hey, different strokes for different folks. whatever floats your boat. weed floats mine, if soberness floats yours, thats cool too.

also to people saying its too expensive... grow your own or monitor your intake. Buy a half 8th a week or every two weeks. or even just once a month. self control is key.

exactly this.

the first 4-5 days you'll get cold sweats, not be hungry at all, wont sleep at all, and your body temp will fluctuate a Ton(super cold one second, then in your boxers and burning the next). but once u get over the first 5 days its smooth sailing.

i havent burned since june 10th and i feel great now. my new job should be starting up soon, so i can toke again, but once i start working ill be in work toking mode. only toke at nights after work, and on my days off. no wake and bakes before work or anything like that. being high is cool, being high at work is not cool.

Well done, not easy. However, not to discount that stopping smoking helped you feel better, but it's also a great possibility that a lot of the better feelings came from you exercising so much more. Unless you used to exercise that much before, in which case disregard this.

You didn't quit, you stopped smoking weed. Quitting means you give up something. Stopping means you don't do it anymore.

This is me exactly. I cant get high around lots of people anymore. I get so self conscious and over think everything. Makes me completely anti social.

you should look into melatonin, ive had sleep issues my whole life. (often take 3+ hours to fall asleep or not sleeping the entire night, even after i was physically exhausted). i used to smoke or use nyquil/ tylenol pm to fall asleep, but neither option really works after you do it a lot. and nyquil on the reg seem really pretty terrible for you.
melatonin is a completely natural enzyme that your body produces, it induces a calming affect that will put you to sleep like nothing. its cheap, safe and non addictive and you can get it pretty much at any drug store or grocery store.
i started using it when i went to school and it worked wonders from the get go, still use it pretty regularly without a sense of dependence.
anyone else who has experience with this should chime in, this shits legit

(^that all seems way to much like an infomercial.. haha)

funny fact, melatonin of most commonly found in natural turkey. thats why everyone gets sleepy after thanksgiving dinner.

i smoke every day and i also work a hard job, run 6 miles, play sports, and hang out with people. no hate on you or the thread, just sayin, the idea that you can't do both is pretty laughable

tastes good and the best sleep of my life after drinking it.

Cool, i quit for 6 months and didn't notice a difference... so i started toking again, needless to say i think i made the right decision...

uhmmm maybe the reason you can run longer and feel less out of breath is because you have been going to the gym more often and runningg more????

OK TIME THE FUCK OUT IN THIS THREAD.

Lately, I have no appetite for fucking any food and I have no idea why, My body temperature is fluctuating every other minute non-stop, and I have terrible insomnia. The worst part is I have no idea why.

I've been a daily smoker for a year now and I haven't smoked in about 4 days now. You guys are saying that my symptoms could be a result of quiting weed?

I have been a pretty constant weed smoker for a little over five years right now and have definitely learned when I personally can get super baked or when the time isn't right. I had recently just started smoking cigs as they were constantly surrounding me since a ton of friends were straight up addicted to the bull shit. It was so easy to tell a habit forming from just smoking them for a week. I also noticed my lungs feeling much weaker after the cigs and my stamina had declined. The odd thing is that this has never once happened with pot. I dropped cig smoking pretty quick, still love to blaze though

I AM ALSO GONNA START SMOKING LESS. IVE HAD LESS OF AN APPITITE LATELEY AND IM STARTING TO NOTICE IT TAKES WAY LONGER TO CATCH MY BREATH AFTER SPORTS AND SUCH.

THIS IS NOT GOOD AT ALL FOR CROSS COUNTRY IN THE FALL, SO FOR NOW IM NOT SMOKING AT ALL AND PROBABLY JUST A LITTLE BIT ONCE SCHOOL STARTS AGAIN.

Before now, I guess not. I didn't realize that not smoking for a few days would cause this to happen. This shit sucks

No longer just a harmless herb... The ganj is fully addictive now, be careful with that shit. If you can't put up with like... 4 days of THC withdrawal though you should probably distance yourself from the drug. Symptoms last for a week max, exercise helps, and so does drinking lots of water. Good luck lol.

hahah nahh man it's not like that. I'm nowhere near addicted to marijuana, trust me. I haven't had the urge to smoke yet and I don't plan to for a while. I've been running everyday and drinking alot of water so hopefully my body snaps out of this. I'm just glad I know what's causing this now.

those are the exact symptoms of quitting smoking weed, just wait like a week and they all go away, when im not toking for a few days i eat like once a day

yea, i gotta quit too, and i really dont notice any diference, i dont feel the need to blaze at all, but man is it tempting. but i might get a UA before i start my new job and really just dont want to risk it,

oh yeah and i stop for a week or two every now and then and it's the easiest thing in the world and i hardly notice. some of you guys are drama queens, jesus

orrrr, you could just not be a fucking jackass and avoid those situations all together.

and the cops can do anything they want, so its a helluva lot better to be nice to them(not comply with everything) than to just start spouting shit about your rights.

If you are doing something illegal, be ok with facing the consequences. Lifes not fair, grow the fuck up and deal with it.

But good for OP, most people will have to stop for one reason or another for a few years due to carreers, family, or other obligations. I learned i dont enjoy it as much as i always thought i did...not to say i dont like it, just dont love it anymore.

I started dating a girl who doesnt smoke at all about 6 months ago and so I stopped smoking nearly as much as I did simply because she didn't smoke so when we chilled together we didn't smoke. I've learned to enjoy not being high so much, having energy to get shit done is awesome and being able to have clear thoughts and follow through on long term shit rules. Also not losing important shit like your cell phone/wallet/keys all the time is a plus and when you do feel like having a puff you get sooo high off very little green which is way better than having to smoke an ounce a day to maintain a level of fogginess that isn't even like being high anymore. I suggest marijuana use in moderation for everyone.

bahahahahahaha you rich white suburban kid. Not every thing that happens appears on the dashboard cam. When its your word against the cop, you lose. Do realize how easy it is to obtain probable cause to search your car?

seriously though, why put yourself in the situation to get caught? or atleast minimize the risk as much as you can?

beginning and ending every sentence with "sir" is a good start

Shutting off the car when they pull you over is another.

Try being respectful and apologetic even if you didn't do anything wrong and you know it.

I've gotten pulled over literally while I was smoking a joint and got off with nothing because I'm over the top respectful and polite when I get pulled over. There can be no other reason, as my window was even broken so I had to open the whole door which = billowing smoke in his face. Seriously, we all know you're totally cool and badass and shit, but try acting like a polite, sheepish citizen for three seconds. It just might save you a ton of trouble.

this.
be respectful, apologetic, and courteous to the officer no matter how much they might be a dick to you or how much it pains you to do so. It will help. Now, if you are being respectful and such and the cop starts pursuing you about drugs and what not, still hold the respect for them, but stand up for your rights in a RESPECTFUL manner and don't be a push over. Hold your ground with confidence and with a good attitude (despite how hard it is sometimes) and that is the best combo to avoid trouble.

I honestly make myself look stupid sometimes just to limit risks with bud. When we smoke in my car, I usually go to a spot where theres pretty much no chance of a cop rolling by and theres trees on both sides of the road. As soon as we're done, I stop home and leave my tin case of things there before heading back out. When going camping with just friends, we hide the stuff in a hole probably 50 feet from the tents when we're not using it.
