So i just F'ed up on my grades

got my report card back last period and the grades were as expected but it didn't set in till i actually got it. so the grades aren't bad but they are for me. i have like a 3.8 cumulative gpa. but that is horrible for me. so now if my parents see it they are gonna blame it on skiing. it has nothing to do with skiing its just the classes got harder. so should i tell the fam or just hide the report card
 
tell them and promise them you will do better this term so they wont tkae away skiing from you. are you in highschool?
 
yeah i'm 17 and a junior. and usually i get like one B+ at the most. but this quarter i only got them and my semester grade really sucks.
 
wow your semester is already up? i think thats kind of uncalled for by your parents to get upset when their son (you) has a 3.8
 
yeah we end semesters at christmas. doesn't everyone just about? but i know that they are good grades for most. i just know that they are gonna be really mad. i mean i still have exemplary honors and all of that dumb stuff. i will just have to listen to them for weeks about how i don't apply myself. which is kinda true becuase i should be making a 40 minute lesson about emily dickinson right now becuase my english teacher is lazy and doesn't want to teach poetry herself. don't you always love when the teachers say that they are just trying creative teaching when you know its just becuase they are lazy
 
yea im not doing so hot, i usually have a 3.7 and if i dont get that i cant go to the echo mt thing next week. school sucks this semester

yah i got 2 c's on an interim which is like failing for me and mom practically ripped me apart but i got the report card back up to all a's so it's all good (honors bio/chemistry)
 
you guys are all so effin hard on urselves, a 3.8 is an A-/A average wtf is wrong with that, u got parents like hitler or something?
 
It's high school, it doesn't even matter. You'll be able to get into the same schools you would with a 3.8 as a 4.0 if you do well on your ACT's.
 
Skiing nearly messed up my degree. Had to work my ass off for 4 months at the end and it all came good. Never give up on skiing just for school/college. You can always fit it in.
 
haha. im in the same boat as u buddy. i did crappy for me this semester and am only gonna pull out a 4.0. parents arent gonna be excited let me tell u. its not that they are crazy its just that they know i can do better since i have been for the past few years. we shall see how things go. senior year is a waste.

hah, you think that's bad? coming out of high school i had like a 88-90 percent average. first semester this year my average is 68. luckily my parents aren't freaking out about it like they used to. i got an 85 in english 11 one term and my parents nearly grounded me.
 
yes...at least my dad. he's the most horrible person ever...and he skis! so you'd think he wouldn't care as much
 
are u people seriously fucking bitching about 3.8s and 3.7s thats barely below and A average thats rediculous that you are complaining about that
 
dude if you are mad about gettin a 3.8 you need to try takin some real classes. colleges would rather see someone with a 3.7 in a bunch of honors and ap shit than a 4.0 in basket weaving. tell your parents to shut the hell up, no sucessful person I've met in my life has done well in school, it really doesn't matter that much just learn what you can. this is on a 4.0 scale right?
 
jea ive got like Bs and Cs and my parents ar eflippin but thats reasonable, and its cuz im lazy. A 3.8 tho thats good as hell
 
Come to Canada we don't have these 3.8 type nonsense things. We just have %s. I got a 86 avg this semester. Just barely an A avg. I was happy
 
yo i just got my grades and I have a 3.06, which I'm stoked about. I needed a 3.0 to stay in my business school (ok, cuttin it a little close) and more importantly I needed a 2.5 to go on domestic exchange next year!! wooot. If you stress out about gettin 3.8s in college you are gonna have a terrible 4 years.
 
Dude F school give your parents your report card say your going skiing and tell them those are some awsome grades!! shit the highest i have ever got is like a 2.5
 
i took a study hall for the winter term just so i could get hw and shit done so id have more time for skiing. not a bad idea, cause my grades are really good right now and i dont gotta do any shit at home.

If your parents get pissed just give em a guilt trip. whenever my mom gets upset about me goin skiin, i just say stuff like

"the ski season here is so short though"

"i hate it here why do we have to live here"
