So i just bought a canon 30D

yesterday i was brosing toronto, and decided to buy a canon 30D with a Sigma dc 2.8 50 lens. fucking sweetness, kicks the shit out of my old rebel xt

i guess it ships the end of this month, looks pretty decent, 2 more megapixels and a frame and a half faster per second, .5 inch bigger display with a live view mode.

i still dont understand how some of canons models are better as the number gets lower ( 30D- 5D) and yet when they upgrade it the number jumps

I hope you mean the 18-50.

You may want to consider returning it, if possible. The 30D will drop about $100 when the 40D comes out and the 40D is projected to be the same price as the 30D.

Another one of the key upgrades is a change from 12 to 14 bit.

If you can live without it, and your return policy allows for it, a return might not be a bad idea. You may also be able to use the release of the new camera as a bargaining tool.
