ya so im on my way home from my gf's house tonight at like 10:30 so not even that late and on the way to the bus stopsome car goes by and stops in front of me and im like uh ok... then it reverses so its following me and it fallows for about a min, then pulls up beside me. there are 5 guys inside so obvsly i cant defend myself very well...so the guy in the passenger seat rolls his window down and is like yo whats up? and im like uh nothin dude and im obvsly pretty sketched out by this point and then he opens his door and im like aw no fucking way so he comes at me i push him back and he just gets back in and they speed off. so im like shit ok that was sketch. so a ways up the road im still walkin and i hear footsteps comin from behind and i look back and there is like four of them sneakin up on me so i just book it like a mutha fucka and im wearin a backpack but im pretty fast so i was fine after that.

anyway i just thought id share that cause even though i was in a real good neihboorhood theres ass holes everywhere. it was weird to cause i had just bin thinkin bout gettin jumped and im like naw itd never happen its a good hood but apperently it doesnt matter...
 
could you think of any reason for it?

you did the smart thing running...i used to always say id rather catch an ass whoopin than run but then i realized if you are just gonna get fucked up guaranteed its best to swallow your pride.
 
nothing at all just a bunch of random dudes... and ya when theres no way your gonna not get butt fucked its deff best to book it.
 
when im walkin around at night by myself i keep a switchblade on me. its a good investment
 
ya i guess it was sketch anyway. i was so happy when i got on the bus but i still was doin a shoulder check every like 5 seconds..my gf is freakin to now...
 
its amazing how much confidence it gives you. im not sayin i start fights or anything but its nice to kno that if sum1 tries 2 jump me i can defend myself
 
thats why i carry a .22 just about everywhere i go. its not illegal to

warn people and say "i have a gun" and just about everyone will back

the fuck up once you say that. only said it once when my car was gettin broke into and the guy ran off into the woods
 
u jus dont know how it is, gotta stay hard up in the ghettos of VT.

and all im gonna say about carrying weapons of any kind....dont have it unless you are fully willing to use it. if you are going to carry a switch blade be ready to stab someone (possibly to death) with it if you pull it out. same as a gun, dont pull one unless you are fully prepared to end someones life.

i will most likely buy a low caliber handgun when i turn 21 and keep it on/near me.
 
that's an awfully big gun to carry around with you every day dude. unless you get in regular gunfights I really don't see the point of carrying a hand cannon. it's all about the .38 snub nose - small enough to easily conceal and powerful enough to stop damn near anything.
 
^ haha dude, you don't even know, my sister got me the braveheart sword (its like, 5 feet tall) for my bday last year, so I do own a real sword haha.

ya im from ottawa. its kinda gay how they restrict guns here so much, there are benifits though in knwo.
 
If five guys jump you and you have a knife, you might be able to take out one but hten your just going to get wrecked from behind and be in even more trouble. running was a good desecsion
 
aha yea i live in burlington, i probably wouldnt carry it around here no, but if i moved to a worse area i would.
 
yeah i know its so gay that we live in a country where we have a fraction of the amount of gun related deaths than the US
 
i couldnt imagine actaully carrying around a gun... i mean a small knife, possibly, but like an actaul gun is just a big deal...
 
just make sure you always have at least some amount of money on you, so if they do get you again, they will just take that, and shouldn't hurt you
 
its really not, just don't pull it unless you feel like you are in a life threatening/serious injury situation.
 
hahaha when i was goin to a pistons game in the daylight i got jumped by 16 black kids,teens, adults i was with my dad uncle and both grandpas. it was fucekd up they started to throw rocks at us. i picked one up threw it back then they all scattered...this was before the game...didnt see them after.
 
also a small fraction of the population, a lot of the cities with the strictest gun laws have the highest gun violence in the US. Were kinda fucked in that they have been around so long here, theres plenty to go around so if we made them illegal, only the good people would turn their weapons over, but you think the guy sellin rocks on the corner or waiting to rob your house that night is gunna hand in his weapon? Unlikely.

I do remember a couple years ago somebody shot someone in the Whistler Villiage and people went ape shit... It would be kinda nice to see people so suprised that a gun was in town when in Seattle in the summer it seems like one person gets shot a week.... mostly just gang members killing eachother off though...wow kind of a long rant for something I don't really care about haha.
 
Find out what your states laws are in regards to carrying pepper spray and stun guns.

Knives are kind of a no-no, and if you get in trouble (which stabbing someone...you probably will) you will be fucked with possible felonies.

Don't argue about it, because there are lawyers who get paid to do so and win.

Yes you could look like you are getting jumped, you react and take the knife out

A) do they have a gun or otherwise violent weapon (tire iron,etc) well now they might use it....

B) you stab them to preemptively stave off an attack which works, but they also get your description and call the cops, you are shortly thereafter arrested for attempted murder or some shit....

In the eyes of the justice system, mace and stun guns are the only way to "protect yourself". Basically if you use a gun or knife you better make sure your life is in danger over it.

Plus you immobilize your attacker.....

Tazers are like $20, mace is like $5, bear mace is like $7, don't spray the bear mace in your eyes....

CA: 100+ deaths by fire weapons/year (~30 m inhabitants)

so its ~3 deaths/1 m inhabitants in CA, and ~40 deaths/1 m inhabitants in the US every year. that along is a good fact against any kind of weapons imo

ok, i live in europe, but there was a show on that after the latest school shooting.

and i am pretty sure that i couldnt shoot anyone. even if hes really threating me. i wont think i could pull the trigger and get down on the same level as he is. and a knife, thats even worse
 
I remember t.v. or something I don't know which but talking about how stabbing someone is much more emotionally involved since you actually have to drive the knife in to them where as a gun is just clicking a trigger.

Either way I would carry a stun gun and mace if I felt like my life was in danger.
 
i keep saying i should get a knife but i always think if this dude takes out a knife...i'm not gonna have a knife fight with this dude....I wish it was like back in the ol' days you either gave an ass whoopin or you got one. Simple as that the better man won. I'm in boston and I try to stay outta the sketch areas but we get notices from our campus police about people getting robbed at knife point or gun point ever few weeks...scaryy I'm thinkin about gettin a tazer but...do they work through clothing? and if its just gonna piss the dude off and not knock him back a few steps or to the ground.. he's just gonna get pissed off...am i right?
