Im 19 and when I got home for the weekend I got GTA and started playing it. Now I have to throw it away because it "degrades women". Some lady at my step moms work named off all the terrible things in GTA and she already doesn't like violence in video games. Have you guys had to do this shit? im kind of pissed because I just bought it yesterday.

Im totally unsure. Because there was a mention of prostitution being in part of the game? People who haven't played the game don't understand it and probably think that GTA forces you to participate in prostitution. Its stupid I have to throw it out its my game and im 19. The ps3 is also my brothers so I can't just take it with me.
 
I really am failing to see the issue here, obviously we're missing something.

Wtf? You're 19, legally an adult. If your mom doesn't want you to play it at her house then respect that and just play it at your place. You don't need to throw it away. You also shouldn't need NS to tell you this...
 
it's probably a good thing. video games are a huge waste of time. I will never live with a videogamer again.
 
that will probably happen, but the ps3 is at my dads and step moms house since its also my brother's. My roommates have an x box. I was just trying to get a game for when I come back.

Im confused on why its expected of me to throw out something that I can rightfully own. Obviously Im going to keep it or sell it some way. Its bullshit because its not just $60 it takes me 6 hours to get that money and basically Im being told to throw away my 6 hours day of work and start over. This isn't a question of what I am going to do with the game. Plus I got the last grand theft auto from my dad and I have never had restrictions on what games I can or can't play since I was 12 or 13.
 
So your step mom is telling you to throw it away? Tell her to fuck off and she doesn't have any authority.
 
I know I would respect that but I was told to throw it out and I argued with them about it and they didn't want me to keep the game at all. My step mom wants it in the garbage no where else. Obviously I know what I am going to do and the game is not going in the trash. Thankfully I have a homie that has a ps3 and lives 5 blocks away, Ill probably give it to him for a bit.
 
yeah that's just stupid. Tell her to take her cause up with the manufacturer-- she can go to best buy and purchase them all and throw them away if that's what she wants to do with her money, but clearly she has no right to mandate what you do with the game. Unfortunately she does have the right to tell you that you can't play it in her house, though--sucks for you but just get a different game to play at your parents house.
 
rent it to him, maybe even for weed. Then you can still get your game back or sell it later. But did you really need ns to tell you this? And also just download it to the hard drive of the xbox, then you can still have it without the disk.
 
Dont do anything with the fucking game dude, you are an adult and that is your legal property you dont have to listen to what people tell you to do with it.
 
the irony of it is my dad bought GTA 4 for me when it came out and I have been playing that game in the house for over a year and my step mom has seen me play the game blasting people with the shotty and rpg and she would just tell me not to play it when people are over so I wouldn't. once she heres there is prostitution in the game its over and she wants the game in the trash, but arriving to a house in a shoot out killing people is totally fine for me to play but the prostitution totally puts the game over the edge.

lol you think I just sat there and let them tell me I needed to throw out my game newly purchased game?Im done with trying to argue with them my dad said I could take the game out of the house but my step mom wants the game trashed. They seem to not care much about all the daily commercials, shows, and movies that degrade women. Im done with trying to change their mind its not happening. What ever though its not my house.
 
Sell it on NS for $45, buy xbox copy for $60, eat the fifteen or get your homies to pitch in, shoot hookers, trip off weed, and kill people in the game.

Sounds simple no?
