haha this thread makes me laugh, I used to be into hardcore music, but even living in michigan ive never heard of courage crew or even straight edge, but they sound like some pussy christian wanna be gang, full of the ignorant, retarded bottom 10% of their graduating class
 
Use to alot deployed last season this season settling into my house didn't have the extra money to ski another baby coming etc..

 
Actually full of really intelligent people, i know a guy going to med school to be a doctor another just got accepted into pharmacy school. Many really high speed military people Rangers, hackers, electronic engineers..

This is quite the thread boys. I want to make sure I have this straight. So there is a nationwide "crew", although not everyone even knows each other, called Courage Crew. Said crew believes in abstaining from drugs, pre-marital sex, and drinking. They enjoy going to concerts (it is a well known fact that folks like to drink and do drugs at concerts), but do not enjoy the drugs and drinking that go along with concerts. So, in true ignorant moron fashion, they expect behavior not commonly found at concerts...this includes, but not limited to:not dancing while holding a drink, not lighting up a cig to go with your drink, not passing the peace pipe, not shouting, not accidently bumping into people. I went to my first concert at like 15 years old and saw all of these things goinig on. I'm older now and nothing has changed. It seems like this crew needs to change thier expectations. Moving forward, due to thier dissapointment with the human race they have decided that a reasonable course of action is to try to beat up all the fun loving concert goers. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but ok. So, because of thier actions they have brought hate from other gangs on themselves, preventing Courage Crew from being able to travel without fear to many places. Haha ya definately would not sign that one. I like my freedom. You guys sound like terrorists.

If one of my friends told me that there was a straight edge gang called 'courage crew' and that they beat up kids who smoke and drank whilst occasionally having fights with other straight edge gangs I would genuinely not believe them. WTF!

I had previously thought of straight edge people as pretty chill and respected them for having their own beliefs and sticking to them, now I am disgusted by this 'courage crew' shit. Seriously, how can these people (who are supposedly intelligent, functioning members of society) think that fighting someone for smoking/drinking near them is ok. Sometimes in England people in clubs will try and fight you if you spill your drink on them / knock their drink, these people are called drunk cunts, well done 'courage crew' you all act like drunk cunts,

i have been to many hardcore shows in the NYC area and the SLC area. i have talked to FSU and DMS dudes before and honestly there are not that many instances of a straight edge crew beating up people for smoking and drinking these days. back in the late 80s and early to mid 90s yeah there was a ton of that shit. i can not speak for courage crew as for i have not seen Courage crew kids at a show before. I will say that alot of the bands that courage crew backs are garbage and are just upright mall metal not hardcore.

 
is it honestly worth it? why the hell would u commit to a gayass lifestyle of being in a "brotherhood" and be constantly scared to go to certain cities? you shouldnt risk your life or your well being for a dumbass thing called pride and friendship. your life is your life. risking your life for a group of friends is the lamest shit ever.

want a brotherhood? join a sports team. like football, rugby, or hockey.

i think the whole anti drug thing about beating and killing druggies/drug dealers is imposing on other peoples freedoms. if you were a fatass you wouldnt want people killing mcdonalds workers now would you?

I just can't believe you think pre-marital sex and drugs are so bad. Wouldn't it be more worth while spending your life educating youth about the perils of drugs or building houses for hurricane victims, or learning a trade and contributing to America's economy. How can you justify gang violence against drugs?
 
In detroit? Yea right. That whole city is one giant bong. You cant walk down an ally without getting high. I find it very hard to believe that they would beat up every homless person there. Which is 90% of the people there.

Some people would consider resorting to violence just as much a crutch as drug use. Whatever helps you deal with the state of the world I guess. Would you say a lot of courage crew is current or ex military??
