so i broke my salomon lab skis...

today i was skiing and i landed switch on a table, after i reverted around my ski felt funny so i took a look at it. above my toe peice on the base of my ski, the outside edge had seperated from the ski bending the base down, the seperation is about 7cm long. this DID NOT HAPPEN BECAUSE OF RAIL DAMAGE.

i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else with salomon lab skis, it most definently looks like a MANUFACTURE DEFECT, and has nothing to do with the fact that salomon uses a foam core.

well for one that really sucks you broke your skis, secondly you shouldnt buy salomon, thirdly warranty them

ya, but i've been told by multiple salomon reps that there is pretty much no warrenty on a lab ski...if theres any chance it wasnt defect your screwed

i sent them back today, so i can't show pictures. they guy at the shop who works with salomon talked to an RA (i don't know what that is) and explained that the break wasn't from rail damage or missuse, so hopefully it works out. if not, i'll just have the rep who i got the skis from help me out. i'll keep everyone posted tho

My 1080s from last year have an edge crack, and the shop told me I have to pay $20 to send to for warranty, at which point they may or may not (most likely) will warranty them. Should I even bother, or is it a waste of $20?

 
arent the lab skis made in the race room, so there shouldnt be any mistakes on them?

^ The labs are made in Salomon's race labs where they make their downhill skis. The bases are different. I'm pretty sure the foam is a little different, but I think the only major difference besides the graphics is that the base is a whole hell of a lot faster (and more expensive) = not necessarily good for rails.

And I doubt he paid the full $900, they are on getboards now for 400...

there are some people on this thread who don't have a clue.

The lab ski is just their best 1080, not a prototype. Of course they will be under warranty.

salomon did not replace my skis, it is obviously a manufacture defect and i'm really suprised they weren't replaced.

if this is the best freestyle ski the make, and my delaminated edge is not a manufacture defect then it must be concluded that SALOMON MAKES POOR QUALITY SKIS.

i'm only glad i didn't have to pay for these low-quality defected skis...

i called some people at salomon, they sent me ONE ski. so i guess you could say i got my warranty, or half of one.
