So I bought a motorcycle...

I pretty much pull out the O face for any ducati or triumph I see on the road.

Pretty classy bikes if ya ask me.

the base model monster is probably the most common bike I see around Denver.

My bike was destroyed two days ago, so now I'm in the market. probably gonna scoop an RD 350 or 400 if I can find one, or an xs, or a cb550, because the 750s are just way overvalued.

that or save and get an 09 or newer bonny. EFI for the win.

Thats a sick bike. I've always wanted one for a long time but years ago before my father passed away he was hit by a dump truck sitting at a stop light. The truck made the turn a little to wide and my dad almost had his leg amputated. Just always be cautious no matter what. I'd hate to see another young kid get into a horrible bike accident.

I'll probably just end up getting a classic car instead of a bike. I wouldn't want to risk an injury that puts me out of skiing for life.

I was seriously considering buying a bike a couple months ago , but my parents are just like yours. The only reason why I didnt buy a bike is because my dad said hed pay for half of a car instead of me buying a bike.

Congrats on the bike though, don't sell it!! You did something for yourself, and as long as you know the risks and keep saving you'll be good

^ yeah i'm not usually a fan of the streefighter look but that's dope.
all you guys with the undertail exhausts, especially the dual undertails....omg....that's the one thing on a bike i go gaga over. i really hate side mounted exhaust on sportbikes even though i had one

sooo jealous, it's seriously the sickest looking thing you can do mod-wise in my opinion. In terms of look and sound i mean. i just love it.
this is what i wanna put on my next bike

the two brothers is ridiculously loud haha. I know someone who has it and they can't ride for more thatn 30 min without earplugs. But its super deep and so sexy

soo fly dude. who makes it?

Two Brothers makes some big bold looking ones, i'm on their site browsing for the bike i don't even have haha

That right there is a Laser. GPR makes a similar one that looks better imo but its so hard to find because they are some british company or something.

no doubt, i just can't get over how good it looks. just a big and bold badass dual exhaust on the back makes one hell of a statement in terms of, "hey guy behind me....i'm about to blow your fuckin doors off, seeeee yaaaa"

keep that thing! riding motorcycles is sooo much fun! i got my license this year. just dont be stupid about it and wear a helmet.

If I lived somewhere in the country, I would consider one, but there are far too many bad drivers in CT that could ruin or take your life.

Hell ya man. This is getting me so excited I want to go and buy it right now! Noe i gotta go look at youtube vids of it haha

Also can't wait for fall riding. Best time of the year

you guys are making me jealous. next summer im thinking of picking up something real cheap/old to learn on, then i want an r6. this would be my dream tho ha

definitely get something cheaper first. You are almost guaranteed to lay your bike down at some point and it will break your heart if its a brand new bike that you love.

yeah im thinkin of grabbing an old ninja250 or small 500 or something to learn on. after a solid year (atleast) ill get the r6

on the topic of street bikes, i took my good friends gsx-r1000 out for a spin on some open track, good fucking lord, 120 at the flick of a wrist and it doesn't even feel like you're moving fast because theres so much left. i got scared at 140, just the thought of what a crash would do.
i ride dirtbikes on a semi competitive level, and just one day on that bike is enough to keep me from buying a street bike. the power is intoxicating and its impossible to ride it slow and thats why i know i would get smoked by someone backing out of their driveway or switching lanes.

this!. but dont leave yamaha on the tank bikers dont like ricers.

and people who say bikes are dangerous dont know what they are talking about. yes you dont have a metal body around you but if you dont drive like a retard you should be fine, the people you have to worry about are the people in cars who dont give a shit about you.

this was my buddy I spoke about.

It was in his first months of riding and the gloves the previous owner gave to him were too big and he felt more control with them off.

1985 Honda magna vf500. It seems like all the bikers on NS are into street bikes, and similar, but I love older bikes like this one.

Yeah, when I saw the redesign in this color I had to have it.

I love how they integrated all the blinkers so I don't have clunky ones hanging out. Also the under engine exhaust dumpout struck me as a nice touch that keeps weight low. '06 also had a slipper clutch and the figure 8 frame is so comfy... It's just perfect for me in so many ways.

Shit man now I wanna call out of work and go hit the berkshire twisties up 23.

Agreed. Mine is a little foot-sized dumpout right behind the footpegs. I want to get the taylormade exhaust for it where it's just a hole and a carbon fiber shroud, no can. SO SICK! I like the clean ass end, so I almost never put my pegs on or my seat.

She's sitting right outside my office in the shop right now. I park 'er ~20 feet from my desk. Right next to my brother's '06 CBR 1000 lol... Distracting! I'll walk out of the office, see those sexy bitches lounging and lose my train of thought completely.

Thanks for all the insight guys. Just an update. I kept the bike. Been riding it quite a bit. I mostly stick to the back roads and off the highways as I am still pretty neurotic. But here is a pic from last night.

Motorcycle ride on an august night (my buddy and his GF rode with us too). Great weather for riding. Mid 80s after the sunset and on our ride home there was a thunder storm off in the distance (over the salt lake). Which we sat and watched.

I'm glad I kept the bike :)

hell yeah man good for you! take it slow and stay off the highways until all the basis are second nature for you. and even then, backgrounds are still generally more fun anyway.

O nice you live Kaysville. If you ever come down to SLC, riding up the Cottonwood canyon roads is really fun. I'm sure there are sweet roads in the mountains up there too though,

I paid 1000 bucks for the bike. I shouldn't have even put that ratio in. I just wanted to express that money really wasn't too big of an issue in my decision. Is there a way I can edit it out of the op?
