So i blew out my car speakers

I bought a nice new cd/mp3 player from target, and put the adapter in the cassette deck and was listening at a reasonable volume, and there was this big thump. Now my speakers sound like there's a furball stuck in there. I drive a 97 honda accord. Any suggestions for new speakers?

thats not the problem, its just a walkman that i used an adapter to play through the car radio. But should i just buy new speakers, or is there a way i could get speakers with a sub woofer combo or something?

1 stero shit from target isnt the best BUT it will be fine if you dont want high end sound. For cheap spearkers you wnat some pioneers or if you wanna apend some $$ alpines or jbls. I ahve a sweet sub setup that ill sell you, 3 1000 watt MTX 10s with alpine v12 amp in sealed box.

yo dude go with polk audio speakers if ur lookin 2 spend some $... if not go 2 best buy/curcit city and get some open box speakers that ppl have returned... any speakers you buy even the worse ones will be much better than factory and install them your self its so easy for instructions visit www.crutchfield.com

What size speakers do you have? Check out crutchfield.com for info on your car. They are not always the best buy, but they have pretty good service.

you bought it at target? BHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH BHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHBHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHBHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHBHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHBHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHBHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHBHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH

im not a rich asshole. and i sense some tension. but next time you might want to consider best buy. they have decent sound at resonable prices. thats where i got my stuff.

custom shops get really expensive really quick.

I love alpine shit. thats what i have along with MTX. can go wrong

you might be a ricer if...

what in the fuck? since when did better speakers make your car a rice burner.

you good sir are a fuckwad.

If you have a stock deck in your accord you may be able to power decent speakers, but if you just buy a deck it will push a greater amount of watts to the speakers giving you better sound. Your problem is lack of funds and your stock deck/cd adaptor. It gets expensive fast. Although, i am sporting two twelves and an 1100 watt amp that i paid nothing for. People have stereo equipment around that they dont want and will sell for cheap.

i blew out the speakers in my dads jeep, then blew out the speakers in my car. but i got some kick ass new speakers but idk what they are off the top of my head

Buy a cd player. Dont use some cassette adapter those tend to malfuction. Everyone I know that has one has had atleast 2. Go buy a cheap cd player. I have kenwood cd player in my car... works nice.

But you probably blew your speakers out if you were blasting them. Cant do that in older cars mine is a 95, gotta be easy on it. usually 23 has good sound quality

sony explode door speackers r good, if u want some really good ones go with kicker, or bose....

go to crutchfield.com and get a whole setup. speakers/tweeter, and sub combo. for pretty cheap. or go to circut city-they usually have good deals there and free installs. go for pioneer speakers, good quality that will last long

yeah man, I have a 98 Accord and I'm assuming you would have the same size speakers in your car. Anyways it depends what speakers you blew, the fronts or the rears. If you blew the fronts you need to get some 6 1/2's, and the rears you can throw in some 6 X 9's. I put in some Infinity Reference Series in the back of my accord and they pound. Get rid of the shitty deck you get some Honda, and put a decent CD player in there so you dont have to use the fucking adaptor. This is 2005 here buddy. New deck and some nice 6 by 9's and your good to go.

read this:

"thats not the problem, its just a walkman that i used an adapter to play through the car radio. But should i just buy new speakers, or is there a way i could get speakers with a sub woofer combo or something?"

and next time you plug the mp3 in dont have its volume up very loud, it makes a loud buzzing noise and probbly isn't very good for the speakers...

ok sounds like you arent looking for anything crazy so my advice is to visit your local best buy or circuit city. usually you can listen to all the speakers they have and pick some that sound nice and are a decent price. most of the time they will offer free installation for car audio stuff that you buy from them. i suggest replacing all your speakers at once so theyll work together for nice even sound. i think it was mentioned that you probably have size 6 1/2" ones up front and 6" x 9" in the back. but you can double check on www.crutchfield.com to make sure for your year and model. i also recommend getting a new head unit at some point and together all of this will sound much better than your stock system did. same deal with that i suggest going to the store and playing around with the display ones to see which one has a button layout that you like and functions that you want.

i say goto the stores because you can probably get free installs on most of these things and save yourself some trouble. if your comfortable installing things yourself then go check em out at the store and buy em online somewhere. ive bought audiobahn stuff off ebay very cheap and everything has been great (make sure you buy from an ebay store though)

get the apline r series door speakers, 6 inches around i think??? sound like little subs little mor expensive but way worth it
