and then before realizing what i did, i emptied the recycle bin.

sooo, do any of you guys know any decent similar, and importantly, free programs... all i really want is to be able to record with the built in mic (i know its shitty, but y'know... i dont wanna spend money or anything haha)

you should have a disc that came with your mac that has iLife recovery software. Check there first.
If that isn't there...just torrent something.
 
Hopefully it is there...but I am only talking from experience about a current gen MBP...idk about older models.
Good luck. Apple support might be able to help as well...
