back in the day (like elementry) i was and avid boy scout.... fast forward and im now a sophmore in high school and my dad wont let me quit untill i get my eagle scout (highest ranking) well i never do anything to get to this level so he comes up with the idea to buy me a jeep but...... i cant get it untill i complete all the citizenship marit badges...... so freakin madd......

so is any one else a boy scout, girl scout, ect. ect. ..... or should i say forced to be a boy scout, girl scout, ect. ect.......

when boyscouts was actually fun

now i kind of don't show up for anything

except the ski trip..=))
 
o u have no idea....... ive tried tried tried tried....... he says well than i guess ur jeep will be your moms and you can keep your taurus........ the dumb part is he droped out of scouts when he was in hs.....
 
Im not trying to come off as a dick and i realize you are forced to do this but boy scouts is soooo gay. how old are you?
 
haha i know i feel gay when ever im forced to go to something thats associated with them.... im 16.... it would be one thing if like there were some cool people in it but all thats in it are retards i mean i have no friends that are in it... when ever me and my friends are camping they always make me make the fire cause im a scout i get so pissed..... haha
 
just do it and get that jeep!! fuck, i would...i need a jeep right about now you'll regret it if you don't.
 
o no doubt im going to do it mean its a jeep.... but still it makes me mad.... im pose to be workin on it right now but its the weekend so f that...
 
dude makin the fires is the best part of campin. cuz u can chill with like a brew or a blunt and burn shit. its the fuckin shit.

boy scouts is fucking stupid now, but later on if you dont get your eagle you will regret it, it really really helps you in life. So you might hate it now, but you will be thankful if you get your eagle, i regret not getting mine.
 
I was in the same position as you in high school i had been in boy scouts for ever and i really wanted to quit but my parents made me stick it out. I am really glad i stayed in it and made eagle scout, it might not be looked at as the coolest thing in high school but whatever man its a heck of an accomplishment. Eagle scout is something that will stay with you the rest of your life and is truly respected by alot of people. Just stick it out man it will be a great feeling once you get Eagle and youll be glad your rents made you stay in it.

I also have the same situation..It sucks but w/e....I did my duty by volunteering at a summer camp for 3 years and came to realize that any fucking douche bag out there can get the eagle... Its actually pretty easy if you put the time into it...Ive seen some kids that are eagle that couldnt survive a day in the wild (yet there still Eagle)..Ive seen eagles that get home sick at a 1 week camp....I respect the older generations of eagle scouts because they are actually bad ass...The older requirements to get eagle were so badass like make stalking merit badge and some of the other old shit.....Thats my basic consensus on Eagle Scouts these days...Parents primarily want there kid to get it just because it looks good (like on a college application), not prepare them for later life situation's....

Ive been a Life scout for 4 years and have had all my merit badges and Ive had my project done for 4 years also...All I have left is the paperwork...
 
I was a boy scout, didn't really enjoy that much as I got older but just stuck it out by my own decision and got my eagle scout rank. Kinda sucks but you just gotta have fun with it. And its so worth it in the end. Even once you graduate from college and are looking for a job you will still have eagle scout on your resume and it will still look really good to prospective employers. It shows great dedication, leadership, and teamwork skills. All things that are great qualities in the workplace and everywhere else. I'd say definitely stick it out if you can.
 
Yep, Im about 2 months away from my Eagle. Boyscouts now sucks, because I have noone my own age in my troop and im surrounded by little annoying children. just stick it out, because you can get scholarships from becoming as eagle scout, plus your almost garrenteed a job if you have that on a resume.
 
i was in boy scouts and got my eagle when i was 16 or 17. i had some awesome times. some fucking scary situations, crazy high adventure camping, paintballing, biking, 50 mile hikes, float trips, driving an old ass subaru off a 300 ft cliff. made friends who i will never forget, and got great advice from adults. got some skills honed in. i enjoyed it a ton and it looks great on any resume and is an awesome achievement for anyone.
 
Yah I am currently working on my eagle scout (40 days till i am 18) and just finished up my project and just need the Cit in Community badge

and we have a ski trip every year thats how i was introduced to skiing! so i owe skiing to boyscouts
 
Yeah get Eagle Scout man, I wish I stuck with it. I used to have all my friends in boy scouts with me, it was awesome. But they all dropped out, so I did too. But being an eagle scout impressed some of the college interviewers he talked to.
 
Stick with it and get it done. I'm an Eagle scout too and while it was a pain in the ass to get it was totally worth it. I don't know about your situation but I've probably never seen my dad as proud as he was at my Eagle COH.

Also what I found was get involved outside of your troop. I ended up basically hating 80% of the people in my troop but I got involved on the district and then national level with some leadership camps and that kept me doing interesting things in Scouting.

As for all the Haters who say Scouts are gay and all we do is help old ladies across the street. I feel sorry for you that you can't have an open mind and see that there are many normal people in the Scouting movement. Also to the guy who said Scouts is for Gay gangs?? You do realize that the Boy Scouts of America and the Army are about the only places left where you get kicked out for being gay?
