So hard for me to keep skiing

Crack.

for all of you people out west who always see people stomping tricks in the park. I have none of that here. All of my friends snowboard and I ski. I hate it when I am the only one skiing. Basically I am the only one in the terrain park at my mountain and it sucks. I love seeing someone land a good trick besides me and there is none of that where I am. Not that I have any good tricks to land anyways. There is basically no heart at my resort either nobody who talks to each other in the terrain parks or even on the mountain for that matter. It's either get out west or I probably will eventually stop or switch over to snowboarding. SAVE ME!!

well id say that if you can come out west.. do it... thats def your best bet... lol

but on a more serious note.. i ski at brighton, which is in utah, and id say that about 85-90% of the season pass holders at brighton are snowboarders.... the mountain is packed with them... now we still have our fair share of skiers throwing down daily, but even if you are completely overrun by boarders than make some friends... incorperate their style into your skiing... i know it sounds wierd but i can still feed off of dope boarder friends that are throwing down just as hard..

don't give up man try and get some of your friends to switch over to skiing this summer i convinced my friend who was a snowboarder to switch to skiing and he says it was the best choice he ever made but u can still feed off a snowboarders vibe but u need to teach yourself tricks but don't give up and deffinetly don't go to snowboarding

same, i alway's try snowboard style tricks because that's who i ride with, with a few exceptions. try going to a different mountain a couple times. take a trip up to vermont, i just went up to mt. snow and it has a great park vibe

If you are a leader at your mountain in skiing and really trying to push it there, you should try to get sponsored. Get some free gear, really try to push people to start skiing.

Skiing companies want pioneers and leaders of mountains on their team...sounds like you'd do a good job.

I have like a hill in my backyard and I build a few jumps on it and I am getting better through that but I do it all alone which sucks but yea I will try to convince one of my friends that mightt..

stop crying keep skiing

I live in a province in eastern austria where you can count all newschoolers with one hand.

just keep skiing man, at first all of my friends were snowbarders and only one friend of mine skied and liked to do freestyle but he could never ski with me cause of moeny issues... after a while more and more people strted to ski in the prk and now i have a lot of friends that ski, but the guys that i usually shred with are snowboarders and i still have lots of fun, i'm trying to make them switch to skiing

im pretty sure the ihateny guys came out of bristol? so skiers have thrown down there in the past, dont see why u cant now

quit bitching.

boo hoo you ride with boarders! alot of people on here ride with boarders.

i've learned most all i know from snowboarders and thats all i've ridden with for the whole time i've ridden park and i know im not the only one like that. Go out there, get skiing and have fun. if its hard for you to keep skiing because of that, then maybe skiing isnt your sport.

it was even worse 3 years ago

I swear to god I was the only skier in the park, but I never even thought about giving up...it is just too much fun, and all of my friends loved skiing

now some of them have tried, and one of them has gotten really good at skiing

you must be a real asshole to have noone at bristol. And there is DEFINITELY more than just you in the parks at bristol. I'm not sure if your skiing at another bristol or not but your trippin

oh and another thing, if you are going to give up skiing because you are having trouble progressing and want to go pro, you are in it for all of the wrong reasons

Another one of my friends thought he could make it pro in snowboarding, and when he finally realized he couldn't he thought that skiing looked easy and he could get sponsored like this year..he realized it wasn't and then pretty much gave up

Dude are you serious? Theres tons of skiers, especially young kids at bristol. Just if you go up on the lift with a skier start talking. Kids at bristol are mostly chill, you just gotta be personable.

I don't know about you guys, but every time I snap into my skis regardless of the situation, all of my probelms go away.

jim morrison "The west is the best" the west is the best baby. If u r old enough...sack up and get yer ass out here. if u are not go to a skiacademy like winter school in park city

going to a park ful of snowboarders with you the only skiing isnt great but it's a fuck of alot better than not going at all. Try living in England.

oh come on now, there is a scene at bristol dude, i'm from there, though i just moved out to utah this year. there are plenty of people to ride with though. try talking to thomson, obviously bristolrider though i don't think he has been there a lot this year, lamp, nashbuck, 13stripes, wall177, there are a bunch more too. i'll get you an invite to the bristol cult.

haha if this is a serious post then i'm not quite sure what to say to that... some of the best newschool skiers i know came out of and still ride at bristol. if it seems like no one talks to eachother, you need to be the one to start the conversation and make some good friends to ride with, b/c there are plenty...

Just have fun with it, and push yourself if you feel bored!

That always gets the adrenaline goin!

PUT DEM BOARDERS IN THEIR PLACE!!! haha

Yes, thank you. I'm definitely not close to being one of the better park skiers but I'm having tons of fun and am stoked pretty much all the time. So if you see me just give me a shout. Orange coat, black pants, brown smith holt.

snowboardings slower and pretty awkward, trust me you dont want to switch hahha. some of your boarder friends are probably curious about freeskiing so get them to try it out on a demo day, or lend them a pair of your skis and they can rent or buy boots.

also i dont see why its inappropriate to ski with boarders? if there was an issue they wouldnt be riding with you

How can you say theres no good kids at bristol? Nate's throwing down 12's and 10's. Bane's doing lincolns, cork 9's. Logans doing misty 5's. I think Deli learned 9's. Sullivan threw down I think a cork 7 or 9 I forget which. Thomson's a sick dude aswell. And I saw spencer. and his friend throwing down pretty hard.

And then you have kids in mini like me throwing down. If you don't have anyone to ski with, just find a park skier waiting for a jump er something and just start talking. That's how I basically met the kids who i ski with, or should i say I broke my bindings, went to the shop, Biggs binding broke and I started talking to this Matt kid. And Matt was friends with everyone from fairport so there it goes. And bristol has about 2 good boarders.

There is just a couple things i wanna say. AlexG above put it perfectly... when i step into my skis all of my problems for away. ill go up and ski for hours alone and love it just being chill and skiing cause i love it. as for progression i think u just might be stuck in a phase where u are doing the same tricks over and over. i got like that a little this year, you just need to find a way to push urself harder and learn some new stuff. and for bristol... i know there are a lot of sick riders up there.  i just had 4 slopestyle comps all through New york around that area and a lot of people there skied at bristol and they are sick. you just need to find the answer

You're kidding right? Bristol has one of the biggest newschool scenes on the east coast. Theres sooo many of us from Bristol that are on this site alone (about 15/20 of us), and then theres everyone whos not on this site yet still throw down. If you think there's no tricks happening at bristol and what not, and that there's never anyone in the park, where have you been? Go to any other mountain in NY or PA or anywhere around here and you wont see half the shit you see here man. Don't be afraid to talk to anyone here, were all super nice and love meeting new people.

If you think no one is good enough at bristol, come ride with me for a day. I wasnt there much all winter because i was competing/filming but ive skied 5 days in a row there which is a record for me in a long time haha. i might be there this coming weekend.

yea dude dont lose heart. Spread it! My friend was a snowboarder and got board with it (he was sponsored) so he switched to skiing and loves it. Your friends will catch on!

wooooord....to the kid who basically said build it and they will come in regards to a scene, thats absically what happened at these two resorts......NONE of that was there 4 or 5 years ago..... and as far as you bitching about Bristol, you dont know what you got... granted its no key or breck but the park isnt that awful and there are plenty of kids there that slay, some of the best EC talent came from there.....seems like your bitching about a whole lot of nothing....get over it!
