actually he tried to go after bin laden, he tripled the anti terror budget, but he failed to act again due to concern over faulty intelligence, and the fact that he was concerned that further failed attacks on the middle east would destroy americas perception in the region, something bush clearly didnt give a shit about.
from the washington post article
"recent news reports have detailed numerous other instances,
as late as December 2000, when Clinton was on the verge of unleashing the
military again. In each case, the White House chose not to act because of
uncertainty that intelligence was good enough to find bin Laden, and concern
that a failed attack would only enhance his stature in the Arab world. "
From a fox interview with Clinton
"At least I tried," Clinton says now. "That's the difference [between] me and some, including all of the right-wingers who are attacking me now. They ridiculed me for trying. They had eight months to try. They did not try. I tried. So I tried and failed. When I failed, I left a comprehensive anti-terror strategy and the best guy in the country, [Richard] Clarke, who got demoted." -- Former President Bill Clinton
the fact of the matter is, it happened on Bushs watch, so please, stop acting like he kept us safe, and then when i point out he didnt, playing the blame game.
