So about Dumont's 34ft

so yeah now that we all know that Dumont successfully kicked the shit out of the previous record and got 34 ft out (looked more like 38 to me) and did it with a 9 no less, I have one question for you all

how dope would it have been if he did an air to switch? I mean that would be scary as fuck.

That would be ill as hell. Almost as ill as a corked 9 id say. Either way i dont really think it matters what trick you throw on a 34 foot air, it will still be dank as shit.

Yeah but thats obviously just the angle its taken at. Air to switch would be soooo sketchy. If his tails caught at all he would basically fall 60ish feet to flat. Kinda like Jake Brown x-games run.

Like someone said above, its just the angle the shot was taken at. The height meter is behind the skier which makes it look smaller and Dumont look like he is going higher.

yeah, but it's gotta be easier to get 30+ ft of air out of a 30 foot pipe than a regular 18 or 20 foot one. that's what i'm guessing. obviously speed is a factor also, but that is why we have bigger kickers, to go bigger.

just do the math-he air about 34 feet out. he was airing about 60ish feet off flat ground. so the qp is (60-34=26) about 26 feet, or probably more i think

^ yeah the QP was 30ft tall.

And to the peeps talkin bout landing switch, Colby was sessioning hard after Simon broke the record and was boosting and landing switch.

Nah man, he wasnt landing switch going that big, sorry for the misunderstanding. Im not positive how big he was going when he was landing switch cuz they took the height meter down.

This is from Symms blog:

"Dumont began hitting the quarterpipe in the early afternoon when he

reached heights as high as 28 feet, before drifting in the air and

falling nearly 66 feet onto the snow below."

Dumont is the toughest man alive.

well one thing i noticed about larger qps is there sort of convex shape they put on the lip.. sort of makes you drift from one side to the other.... this is so you can hit the middles (which sticks a little further out) and land on the sides without worrying about decking so much... you can sort of see the convexness in simons pic..

yah i saw that thread too and it said that he was in hosptital im not sure if it was deleted or what? but i hope thats not true

Not true at all. Simon is perfectly fine (other than a bruised heel), that thread was BS.
