Ok, i'm sick of scrolling throught the pages of snowtrails stuff so I'll make a new thread thingy. So I just got home from snowtrails like an hour or so ago and i spent some time talking too one of the head maintance people and got some kind of mixed feelings about the snow making stuff. They are making snow right now as we speak so thats a plus. However, we had some electicral problems last night at 4 a.m. (prime snow making time) which shut the guns down for the night which sucks the big one. My buddy Harvey told me that he hasn't heard anything confirmed about opening saturday. Also I've heard raido adds that they are planing too open on saturday and a letter from my boss saying they are planning too open saturday. So hopefully we can keep good weather even though its supposed too rain one day this week either thursday or friday and be open on saturday. I should have some sort of confirmation soon. This stuff is right from the horses mouth about the whole power stuff sorry for the maybe soon bad news. If for some reason we don't open saturday, I'm pretty sure we should be ready next weekend. Also look for some new stuff coming about the park as soon as I hear... Rumors for 2 rails coming soon, not sure when/what/for sure yet so we'll keep you updated as I know...Thanks for reading this epic.

at Trails all you guys are supposed to get is snow, no rain , so you should be ready to open by saturday...I checked it all out on the weather channel

im posting to back brad up on all things he jsut said. west woods, teh bunny hill, comp, adn mt mansfiled all haev snow. teh bunny hill with over like 2 feet. with the snow supposed to be coming tonight, things are looking really good for saturday. we'll definately keep you posted.

I'm not too familar with snowtrails but I have a friend up at Bowling Green U that says it is pouring snow there...i imagine they r getting close to the same weather...anyone know how far of a drive it is to snowtrails from the kings island area?...hopefully i'll be headin up there sunday..

Based on current weather conditions we are targeting an opening for this Sunday. There is a weather pattern heading toward the Possum Run Valley that had the potential to delivery several inches of natural snow in the next 24 hours. This could have us preparing for an opening on Saturday. Please return to this location for daily estimates on an opening date and time.

Conditions in the evenings should allow for continuous snow making.

Current Weather Estimates for our region.

So thats what we're looking at right now. As for the drive time....I have no idea where Kings Island is, but we are maybe 2-3 hours from dayton if that helps any. I've never driven too Cinnci or anywhere around there.

Ok i just actually read my last post and it says in the first sentence sunday then later saturday, now i'm all confoozled. So I don't know what the hell is going on right now. Sorry for the mass confusion...thanks Brody for telling me that i'm retarded and can't read. So yeah I want too say that Sunday is the opening day not Saturday. I'll post again tonight as I talk too more people and see.

it's like 2.5 hours from me, and i'm like 45 minutes east of cleveland.

it's a fun place, what if we all call and suggest throwing a rail or something together for tomorrow? does the public have any impact at this place?

ok

i just called for the ski report and it mentioned nothing about the base

so i waited to talk to a person who seemed to know nothing about skiing

i asked her what the base was and she said all that she knew of was the 5 inches that came yesterday and snow they've made

and wet snow compacts too

Ok I'm pissed now...I just typed this all out and hit the wrong button so now I have too do it all again. There should be a pretty good base down tomorrow we have a bunch of snow. And about the whole drive thing....if you really want too ski...go for it. I prolly would. I'll let you know though, the whole resort will not be open. Just a few hills...don't know which ones yet. So yeah come up if you want too...I'll be out there somewhere, you'll prolly know me...i'm the big kid with long skies and long hair. I'll be around pretty much all day if you guys need a skiing buddy...hopefully some of you tomorrow.

nice, nice, im pretty sure im comin down.. ill have ar5's in 176 with the fatigue puffy pants and oakley wisdoms on. i take it there wont be any rail setup or anything? kinda a dumb question, but im just wondering... i may be wrong.

No too the rails, yes to frowning on making jumps but we can prolly get away with it if it is made smartly. Look for me...I have really long hair and i'll be on either enemy's or my 6-stars. My names Brad if you didn't know and So i don't think we'll be hard too find since there's like 2 hills open.

about the rials, and do the people have an impact. well, the thing is, if they put rails down today, they'll have to move tehem when hte park opens, adn sicne people are lazy, they wont do it. bad fucking news htough guys. grade cards came out friday, adn i haev a F in bio.....this meand no skiing till january........fucking parents. i haev a 2.7 even with the F. oh well, jsut haev to wait till january

Everyone... I did go, there were a shit load of people on one lift and the snow could have been better. Spencer...that sucks i'm sorry. Oh yeah...there is going too be one hill open for at least another week. So yeah that'll be fun. Message me if any of you are ever going too be down and we'll have too ski togther while i'm not working.

I was there... kinda dissappointed for the 3 hour drive and speeding ticket the driver got on the way down... I guess that's what you get. I thought more than one run woulda been open and it looked as if you had enough snow to open more, but oh well... I got onto my skis so I'm glad about that.. just wish I coulda had more to ski, but oh well.

I was there with midwestskier, it looked like they had alot more snow they could of used, what was up with that? not to bash snowtrails but if Perfects had that much snow on the surrounding areas they would have every run open. I heard snowtrails has a sweet park tho so I might have to come back and check that out and hope we dont get any speeding tickets...

Value season is until jan 4 i beleive...don't quote me on that, but that is went the ski groups start coming so i think thats the day.

Well I have a bit of an update kinda. We got a lot of rain yesterday and it was warm so we lost a few inchs of snow and a day or two on the opening of the other runs, but i am thinking that we might have the whole east side of the hill open (maybe 4-6 runs depending how you count them) by this weekend. I guess its supposed too stay cold for the next long time so they'll have the guns on for maybe the next 2 weeks. That should be pretty good for the snow stuff. I don't really right now see a reason for our park not too be open by christmas or sooner. So yeah thats just what I'm thinking in my kinda professional opinion if you want too call it that. I'll be back sooner or later with more for sure dates and all that jazz.

Brody, you're scaring me brother. Well anywho, we have a few more hills open now and with this little storm thingy coming through we might open a few more, who knows...not I. The reason for that is becasue the power company is having trouble suppling enough power for all the new guns and we keep loosing power. That happened again like last night I think. So a word on the park, I've heard that possibly this weekend. Not really too sure but it is possible. And yes there is a new snowtrails website. Its pretty niffty and all that. So yeah I'll let you guys know later for sure on everything. Peace for now.

im finding out tonight which new rails we're getting from pepsi (hopefully.) i've been hearing the park opening as early as sunday, although not confirmed. i was able to go out sunday, despite my grouding, and we set up a wall ride on the bunny hill lift tower. didint even get any trouble. as gay as jameson is, he came up with a pretty genius plan. they're gonna tow in with a wrx, and jump someones truck, hopefully ill get some footy for you guys to see what up. well, happy urban riding with all the snow we've gotten. i know ive hit a couple things. have fun riding, lates

Well the word is that the park is changing a bit. We ordered 2 new rails. I've heard that one is a Trap box...not quiet sure how that works or what that means for that matter. Thats not for sure, just a rumor i heard. But I do know that the format is changing. They had a meeting on monday. I guess that we are going too a 2 jump format. If you've been to snowtrails before, we will have the same or close too the same 1st and 3rd table jump in about the same place. Maybe a little hip-type thing towards the top of the run which would change sometimes. Then with the 1st and 3rd jump in the same place, they are getting rid of the 2nd table. In its place will be like a rail section. Don't know the details on that yet. So yeah it should be pretty good set up. Also they are doing our second park a little better too encourage the 'beginners' to use that instead of the 'big' park. So that should cut back on douche bags being stupid and rolling jumps which just piss everyone off. I have also hear maybe the park this weekend, but I have a feeling that won't happen with the rain and higher temps today. So i'll let you know sooner or later. the offical word

Depends where you want too work. Lift ops is full and so is rental and food. But maybe ski school as the year goes on. Just email someone of the website and see what happens. We hired a bunch of mid-season ski instructors last year.

Well i'm whoring it up here again but its ok cause its half useful info. Well they opened the park for like one day then they closed it, so I don't know what the hell they are doing with that. Hopefully it will open soon. We do have just about every hill open now just waiting on the jumps. So I'll get back to you guys with details.
