Snowshoe

I hope your joking. NY, is south of New England, and they are just a tad bit better then anything below the mason dixon line.
 
I was thinking NY was part of New England, but ouside of NE and the northern NY, there is really nothing better, and def. nothing better south of the Mason-Dixon line.
 
Yeah yeah yeah, I know Snowshoe has a little vertical and that it is at 5000'. But the problem is that 98% of the people on the mountain are clueless and really really bad on snow. I know it gets pretty bad here in PA, but it definitely gets worse the farther south you go on the east coast. The parks down there are pretty lame too. For Snowshoe in particular here are SOME reasons why it is lame:

Having to take a bus to get to Silver Creek, which they advertise as part of the "resort"

Having to walk across a road in ski boots to get to the only serious trail in the state.

Ignorant staff.

Closing most of the "decent" runs during the week, along with a few lifts.

Huge amounts of sub-beginners that literally carpet the trails with their fallen bodies.
 
When I was there the park was actually decent. It is odd how the mountain is set up, especially the fact that the lodge is at the top of the mountain instead of at the bottom. Silver Creek wasn't open the day I was there and I didn't notice how nad people sucked because I was in the park all day.
 
A) Until a few years ago Silver Creek and Snowshoe were two different resorts. At least there's a bus now.

B) What's wrong with crossing a street in ski boots? You wuss...

C) Ignorant staff describes just about every mountain in the states, with a few exceptions (mainly Silverton, CO).

D) Closed runs most likely due to poor snow conditions. EVERY resort closes trails for this reason.

E) People falling is funny shit!
