Yeah yeah yeah, I know Snowshoe has a little vertical and that it is at 5000'. But the problem is that 98% of the people on the mountain are clueless and really really bad on snow. I know it gets pretty bad here in PA, but it definitely gets worse the farther south you go on the east coast. The parks down there are pretty lame too. For Snowshoe in particular here are SOME reasons why it is lame:
Having to take a bus to get to Silver Creek, which they advertise as part of the "resort"
Having to walk across a road in ski boots to get to the only serious trail in the state.
Ignorant staff.
Closing most of the "decent" runs during the week, along with a few lifts.
Huge amounts of sub-beginners that literally carpet the trails with their fallen bodies.
