Snowplow spins

ok lets see if anyone can help me with this. when im setting up for a spin of 5 or more im good until i get right to the lip and instinctively go into a little snowplow just before popping. this is very bad! it kills some of my speed and sends me off balance alot. does anyone have any tips for getting my bigger spins smoother? popping evenly or something like that? any help would be cool.

I't seems like an obvious answer, but don't snowplow at all. Speed never (usually) hurts in normal park jumps, as outruns are long and sloped- how do you think people learn nines and whatnot

^ that doesnt really help him.. i dont think he means to do it its instinctive

i think if you lean a tiny tiny bit on your tails it might work a little better, thats what i do sometimes going switch when im tryin not to pizza, just lean a little bit on your tails... but not too much, you dont wanna do a rodeo..

MAybe u r tryin to wind up to much and ur legs are tryin to adjust. IF you think that might be the case dont wind up so much before the liup and just use ur upper body to set ur spin and spot ur landing. Not sure if thats ur problem though!

Get lower and wider. Then wait for the lip, don't rush the spin so much. If the jump is big enough then it will come around naturally.

try carving a little bit into the jump that might help.

try workjing on doing 360 and think about keeping your skis parrallel.

then move to a bigger jump set the same amount of rotation and as you sport the landing, twist you hips just to land fakie

keep on doign that for a while and you should get used to the rotation and be able to keeep the skis parralle with bigger spins

You have to focus on keeping your skis straight all the way off the jump. Just make sure your skis are straight before you think about doing the trick or anything. Also try spinning slower or setting your spin with your shoulders like the other guy said.

because its happening on bigger spins its prolly cuz ur trying to spin as soon as u get off the jump but ur ending up spinning before ur in the air, try waiting a bit longer

don't pop till you get to the lip of the jump.

jump, then spin. I had the exact problem way back...think of going in the air and get balanced before throwing it to hard.

to stop snowplowing focus on a point over the jump and dont turn away from it, it'll keep you straight off the jump.

its like how people sometimes do a little snowplow before doing 270 onto a rail...cuz youre hucking the shit out of a spin. dont huck as much and it wont happen, i guarantee it

Carve off the lip so you can't snowplow?

^^ ec is bang on.

if you got your rotations down and your hitting the jump with enough speed you shouldnt have to huck your spins.

just think about what your doing and come into the lip calm and cool.

if your not preparing yourself to huck you shouldnt want to snowplow before the lip.
