for a season pass for a ski hill with 1 lift??? yes they have a sick park but do you haev any idea how many people are gonan eb there this year... 1199$ is just wrong... if you wanna ski in wanaka this season a season pass for Treble cones like 1500+ and then 1199 for snowpark... What a fukin joke... they should sell passes that work at both mountains.. for 1 g that would be fare.. this shits just ludicrious.

Yeh its kiwi $$

its way too expensive . think about it liek this.. a season pass for Whistler which is open form November till late july is like 1800. obiously this doesnt work in the sumemr but. you get a discounted pass,.. soo theres like 30 + lifts at whistler and like 6 parks..

snowpark has 1 lift, and 10 million people.. and its 1200 $ for a season pass. its a rip off. im going to south america now.. ill spend the cash i save on booze and hot chicks instead of sheep. shitty speights beer, and waiting inline to hit a jump or rail with half of the worlds ski and snowboard population

Snowpark NZ is waayyyy overcrowded. Obviously the price is related to the demand. If you had done your research you would have known the pass is only a fraction of that price if you buy it in april.

Yeh that's a fair point, they obviously have massive demand so charge loads to try and stop the place getting too crowded. If it's still busy this year, prices will go up again, and again, and again until they get they meet the supply and demand curve in the middle!

you honestly think that price will detur people from buying it?? i dont.. as for buying it in april i was spending money on actually skiing in the northern hemi soo didnt have a spare 800 $ .. what eves.. snowpark is fun on days when theres no one there other wise its a fukin junk show.. 1200 for a season pass is a joke.. at a resort with 1 lift

...they can afford to charge it because as you said...it's rammed.

So they will charge more, and eventually it will put off the people who find it prohibitively expensive, and of course that will put some people off!! It will put of people who can't afford to pay more!

I agree it's loads, but if there are enough people who are prepared to pay that then lucky resort who will make loads of cash!

Are you still going to go? My advice is if it's too much... don't go, then they will settle their supply and demand curve at a lower price.

that costs more than the hood summer pass, which i thought was ridiculously expensive. (790 Hood vs 980ish Snow Park USD)

Im going to South America I think... never been there.. i just wish they had some big mountain comps going on.. only good BM comps are in nz in the southern hemi this year...

SA is so much sicker than NZ.

Cerro Catedral is like a huge version of Treble Cone, just as fun but 10x bigger. And it dumps so much more. And you have Japan-style trees in Argentina. I'm also headed to Les Leñas this summer, they say its like Chamonix without the crowds.

Daum and I thought kids paying $600 for a Stowe pass was harsh.

That's sucks man, you should talk to the mountain see if they offer any discounted passes of any kind.

soo sick.. where are the japan style trees? casue Las lenas has no tree skiing what so ever? plese inform me..

I remember b4 wanaka got huge, like right before. I emailed them 200 times asking for spring passes, cause it was 890 bucks for a season pass and I was the for the last month.

They kept saying no, no, no, no, but then when i got there, they had spring passes on for like $250. Just bug them a whole bunch and see what happens. Their motto was "more cheaper than a baby bird!" I like that motto!

yup. skiing is expensive, you should know that by now, or your parents should.

pretty standard man, seasons aren't cheap. thats why I work at one resort, then upgrade to another or somethin. maybe u could wash some dishes and ski free? then u got food covered too.

get a job, get a free pass, pretend to lose your pass and get a new one then quit. if they ask u to return your pass then u have an extra

Snowpark used to be so sick, it was just a place for the local riders to sesh the park, but then they sold out and went all commercial. When i went to high school in Wanaka it cost me $99 for a season pass to snow park, $149 for TC and $99 for cardrona.I used to get 3 passes for like less than half it costs for one now. Shits crazy now.

But the reason its gone up is cause snowparks building a gondola from bottom of the ski road to the top which will be sick so there obviously trying to raise capital. but still its a sad story. same shit with TC. it was cheap there too until a few years back.

Where its at is signing up at Southern institute of tech which is a no fees polytech and not going to classes so u just take ur student ID and leave and get student price of like $400.

haha that doesn't work anymore though, they've caught onto that now.

you've gotta be in to win, buy your seasons pass in feb and its about a third of the price of the peak season cost. you can't really complain about the peak season price because thats when the ski areas pwn noobs and make tons of $$

remember when snowpark was just teh T-bar.. and they had the massive wall ride. I used to ski there every day with teh japs, we were practicly the only skiers on the mountain fuck that was a fun time

yeah definately, i guess being a poor ass student has its advantages very occasionally.

^ yeah man those were the days, it was pretty sick just being able to get off whenever, especially if you just wanted to hit the wall ride at the bottom!
