your battery is either going to be under the seat or under the hood.

take the connections off, DONT TOUCH THEM TOGETHER or your fucked...get a clean wire brush and clean all the corrosion off the terminals, use a light solvent or a grease buster (works great). Make sure you put the terminals back on tight, and your good to go

HAHAH Listen to you fucking jibbers try to fix a sled... sled's do not have batteries: the auxillary electronics like indicator lights, headlights, handlebar heaters, etc.. run off of engine power.. just good old gas. are your lights always dim, or just when your sled is idiling. I would take it in to a shop because they know what they are doing, that is what i usually do with mine.

^actually, some sleds do have batterys, just not mine. How else would electric start work? I think that i just have bad grounds.

yeah my old sleds had batteries for electric starts! definately check for corrossion on the battery and if any of your wires are worn. if that's all good check the alternator.

i had that problem on my car (dim light) and, as stupid as it may sounds, just wash the plastic covering the light. inside and outside. it be simple as that

no, its clear that the light is gettin minimal power, the covering is as clear as day.

It might be because it is a polaris!

There is no such thing as shitty snow there is only shitty skiers.

and it prolly has batteries cuz they are east coaster cruiser sledders!! different that what you and I are used to twoplank...

But when the engine in running the lights shouldn't be running off of battery power...that would be alternator power. but then again I have no idea about an xlt or even a polaris for that matter...get yourself a summit and move to whistler...haha

wow, gas powered headlights???!!! thats fucking amazing!!! I never knew there was such a thing!!! oh wait, there isnt. anyway, you could have a bad ground. make sure all your wiring is intact and your connections are clean and tight. check the simplest things first before you start pulling stuff out or going to a mech.

yamaha and polaris is the way to go. i wont argue that arctic cat and ski doo make some fast sleds. they make everything out of the lightest and cheapest stuff they can find. but what happens when all your light shit breaks huh. under the hood of a polaris or yamaha it is all too familiar. but open up a cat and its like a fuckin chinese finger puppet maze thing.
