Snowmobile double backflip... True Insanity. Props Levi Levalee

Personally I don't think it is worth risking one's life to attempt what he did, but wow, he sure got a round of applause from me. If you didn't see it, go watching. I was nervous he would short it, break his neck, and die on national television. But the kid throttles it, rotates it perfectly but overshoots. Basically, he dropped 45 feet to flat on a sled. He might have broken his ankle in my opinion, but still runs to the top of the hill for a round of applause. Nasty. I think snowmobiling is generally the bane of the X-games, but that kid absolutely rips.

fuck that, hes a stlupid rednick trying to kill himself and make money for espn

people only wathc that shit to see them wreck

I count it, dude he was ready for the landing totally on top of it, no one could withstand that impact. i count it as pretty much stuck , if he had some transition it would have been greased good for him for pushing his sport, respect.

HOLY SHIT!! It's even crazier on the video then I imagined it would have been! I remember when jay quinlan was trying them and could barely get them around one time at first!

Hard call for me. In my mind he 'did it' as in he did the trick, he just didn't stomp it, kinda like reverting on a landing or laying a hand down or something. But there's no way he coulda withstood that impact. If he had landed on the slope he woulda been golden.

Sweet, he got the rotation, but wasn't able to ride away. Props to Levi for attempting this and almost getting it, but it doesn't quite count in my book.

have you ever even ridden a snowmobile?? do u know what that shit is like at all.... im guessing no or u wouldnt be saying that you piece of shit dousch. go crawl back into the asshole you popped out of and stop saying shit like that because you dont even know what you are talking about.

So does he get like ... an honorary gold medal or something?
i missed it and kinda wanna know what ended up happening.

"Somebody go tell him that he had to have landed it"

I wouldn't care I would just be stoked I didn't fuck up and die haha

I was nearly in tears from laughing so hard when they interviewed the winner of that. His missing tooth and everything was just too much for me.

i like when that bitch tried to interview him and he was like "give me a second" yea no shit he just threw a double back! and then she was like well it doesnt count. i wouldve told that bitch to shut the fuck up and look what i just did.

i thought it was CRAZY and mad props to him. he got the rotation, shit was intense.

Until somebody stomps the fuck out of that, he gets major credit from me. That takes a third nut to attempt. I would've been stoked out just for landing with all my vertebrae aligned.

wow props to him, too bad the takeoff wasnt moved back a bit he would had it perfectly.

and bounced right up after that fall, Pure Adrenaline right there, and i think he broke his

ankle or something since he was kinda hobbling up the hill.

I think the average person and announcer would watch that and be like, "why is he celebrating? - he didn't even land it." But to any skier thats ever tried a difficult trick before, they no that its like "who the fuck cares if I landed it, I just did a ______!" I didn't land my first 360. But after I l attempted it I was so stoked, more stoked then when I went back up and landed it because its the action of doing the trick that matters, not whether you stuck it.

I definitly give this guy props, he isn't just hucking a dub flip. I'm sure hes spent so much time in the foam pit, thinking about the trick, riding on the sled. Theres so much skill that goes into that. No one else has even attempted that trick before.

And that girl reporter is an idiot "well you know it doesn't count" "are you going to try it again" - what a bitch, what he did was insane, I'd like to see her go off a tiny little jump on a snowmobile and see her fall and then be like "well you know it doesn't count" "are you going to try it again"

Thats like giving Carey Heart credit for the first backflip on a motorcyle. Doesn't count if it's not landed. There are no asterisks in this life, only scoreboards.

Pretty sure he cleaned on in trainging so he would have the first dub back just not first in competition

K, doesnt count... but I mean he is on a machine that is how heavy? and he did 2 backflips? and committed to the landing even though he over shot the landing by how much?

no it doesn't count, but who cares? Thats huge and is everything the Xgames was built to be.

what a nut.

Word.

Sleds are so fucking fun to ride, especially in pow on the odd occasion I'm not skiing the said pow. Who cares about the redneck stereotype, sleds are fun, end of story.

They do pollute a fair bit though but the newer 4-strokes are getting far better.

Yea, Travis Pastrana does the craziest shit into his foam pit but it doesn't matter, you've got to land it and ride away from it. And don't take this the wrong way, Levi Lavallee is the craziest/ most talented person on a snowmobile. He fully commited to the double backflip and it was way sketchy but the sled landed right side up, I would have loved to see him ride away from it but he didnt, He will someday for sure. the whole next trick comp was an absolute failure though and hopefully we don't see it again in next years x-games, just do a regular freestyle comp or a best trick.

I agree with you, but he did do one to snow at his house which what i was commenting on, but it turns out he fell off the machine on that one too (I just learned that the vid that shows it fades to black while he's like 5 feet above the landing and it looks like he woulda cleaned it). In short your right :P

I give him A LOT of props. That double was HUGE and sooo slow. It wasn't all huck, that took skill and composure.

I'm sure this dude has been riding sleds his whole life. Has probably done a ridiculous amount of backflips. And has been training for the double flip for 39 days!

If I gave you a snowmobile right now you would have no clue how to do a double backflip.

And whats the best thing about this is that this is a trick that nobody has even done before. Nobody even knew if it was possible.

that is so ridiculous that someone is already throwing doubles when the first on was stomped like what 5 years ago. mad props for trying that !

Ummm... he got 4th last night in snowmobile supercross or w/e it's called. and he got into the finals from winning the last chance qualifier, so he rode 28 laps of snowcross last night and looked pretty unphased after. pretty sure he can walk

sick trick, but i was kinda laughing that he was claiming it sooooo hard when he didnt really LAND it.

are you guys serious it was probably the stupidest thing I have ever seen, he had never landed it on snow and had only been working on it for a couple of months, he had no reason to try to attempt this other than his explanation saying, "I just thought I should do it", Some of his crashes into the foam were insane and even his "landings" were sketchy and inconsistent. Travis Pastrana could control his double back but Levi just hit a specially adjusted ramp that simply throws the bike into a double flip. And the fact that he overshot the landing shows that the physics he was working on for months was off and if he had made the landing where it was he would have under rotated and broke himself. The competition was also retarded with the "Next Trick" format which ESPN basically sent 4 monkeys out willing to huck themselves for some money and fame. It was one of the least safe competitions I have ever seen and only one guy succesfully landed his claim winning him the gold, and he was the smartest because he did the easiest trick.

everyone watching (myself included) wanted to see one of three things.

1.) land a double backflip. its always cool when you see that kind of thing, like tony hawks 900. i remember how stoked i was to see that on live television, and im sure others would feel the same about homeboy landing this.

2.) after not riding away, try again. its such a blatant cop-out to give it one shot and, based on the crowds reaction, decide that it was good enough and didnt need to try again.

3.) eat shit in an absolutely terrible manner. lets be honest, as harsh as watching jake browns fall from 50 feet up to flat on that quarterpipe was, everyone was happy to have at least seen it. the same applies here.

that said...dudes a chump.

hahahahaha #3 is horrible, but def true. like gretchen bleilers pipe fall, horrifying, yet somehow enjoyed watching it

I am so sick of Levi Lavalee. who gives a shit. snowmobiling seems to exist at winter x just to totally fuck up the coverage of the events that actually matter.

ok first of all

fuck snowmobiling in the x games. i hate watching motocross in the summer x, but snowmobiling is like 10 times worse. i wouldnt even hate it so much if espn treated it like the boring sport it is, but the fact that it takes away from me watching skiing or snowboarding pisses me off even more. yes obviously the snowmobile guys are very talented, but that shouldnt mean htat they get to take over x games. is snowmobiling even an "extreme" sport?

2nd

HE DID NOT LAND THE TRICK. i dont care how hard of a trick it is, you cant just huck something and come close and have it count. yeah the dude has balls for going fo it, but he did not land it. no one has ever done a double backflip on a snowmobile.

The next day he had to race snowcross Qualifing plus a 20 lap final I dont know who rides MX or Snocross but that shit is mad physically demanding like holdin on to a 150 hp sled hard and wrestling 450lds around corners I think he got 3rd definatly mad props

I agree that the trick was insane, but I aso agree that he did not land it. No one has done a double backflip on a snowmobile.

Snowmobiling is more and more part of skiing, sad as it is for the enviroment.
