Snow
max is an additive that has been created from dead bacteria to start
the chrystal structure in the freezing process. In nature, snow flakes
are formed usualy around microscopic dust particles, thus creating a
starting point for a chrystal. In the process of man made snow, water
may be very clean (usual is in alpine areas) and the temperature has to
cooler that the natural process to make any descent amount. By adding
the snowmax agent (1x 50gram chip packet size per 10000 litres of
water), it give the water droplet somthing to bond to, as its injected
into the cold air using compressed air and a "snow gun".
The cooler
the temperature, the less snowmax you will need to be productive, rite
up to the point where you dont need any (-10 degrees C.) Snow max is
non-toxic and has no environmental impact, but it is very expensive (up
to $1000 per chip packet size)
Another interesting fact - 1 cubic cm of water will make 3 cubic cm's of man made snow at approx -5 degrees C.
