Snowmaking at Boreal..FINALLY

yes, snowmaking has finally resumed at Boreal...its about F@#$%ing time the temps have been favorable.

I had to move the box off the run so it wasn't in the way of the snowmaking crew as they half buried it last night.

hopefully the next time it goes out we will be OPEN. We're just taking everything day by day right now seeing that we have east winds(cool and low humidity). The temps aren't great by anymeans but the low humidity is making it possible to blow snow.

It would still be a miracle if we opened this weekend..but you never know.

my 280 ft vert mountain blew enough snow in 24 hours of cold weather to make a 30 ft table and set up three rails.....

Hopefully you guys get a really cold night soon, ten degree weather helps them blow a lot more snow.

I was there tonight. there is a bit of snow they made about 6 inches in the deep areas it looked like, but it was only in the areas where the snow gus are sitting. it was Fing cold at 7:30, below freezing so it looks good. Cant wait.

dood has anyone seen boreal yesterday or today? Their site says they should be opeing Turkey day or "shortly there after". Please mudflap, anyone...specifically mudflap because you are around there do you kow what the situation is gonna be?

Park status, conditions, anything.

Pretty Ironic they are gonna be opening on 100% man made snow, sounds like the midwest or something. damn this is a crazy season so far

yep, thats us in the midwest.....

I was riding a cbox, flat down rail, and down box tonight on an all manmade ribbon....but I loved every damn minute of it.

will you go a bit deeper? Stupid DP has like 15 mounds that are 12-15 feet tall of man made snow. boreal has to have atleast that much right? the mounds peak out at those heights but and are about 25 yards wide/long. does that not spread out at all?

for some reason "MAMMOTH" is echoing in my cranium and has been for the last couple of days, it must be the voice of the LORD. (Tioga Pass is still open too).

those piles are at their base where its cold due to the inversion are of now use for opening trails. everyone around tahoe is dealing with the same problem..the only place we can make snow is where its the least useful.
